Re: Dead ECM

Yes, C110 is plugged in. My :2cents: on the FP circuit is that they back each other up. If one fails the other will get you home and you won't even know it.

Never even dove one but I always thought a Cosworth was a cool vehicle. Had that certain uniqueness that a Sy has which is part of why I have one.

Re: Dead ECM

Too bad you don't have another truck to swap ECU with.
I have one truck that all of a sudden one day would run about a few miles then the fuel pump wasn't running. Swap fuel pump relay no change. Cold it would start and run warm it would stop running the pump. Put a switch from the pump test terminal on the firewall to a 30amp to the terminal block. Its been like that for a few years. It works. Never did swap the ECU with one of my spares. In the past on my original truck had an inline pump along with the stocker. It would blow ECM B fuse from time to time. Stock pump was working hard to feed the inline. Course back then there wasn't the advent of the 255 or various intank pumps we have today.
Have replaced one ECU on a diff Sy. Had all sorts of idling and stall issues. Stock chip. Think Napa had the Standard reman ECU. Was about $110 back then. Now I have a few spare ECUs. Maybe try to diagnose the switched truck someday. Know for a fact the oil switch is good and all its wiring. Including the wiring all the way back and into the tank. Sort of why I gave up on it as long as it runs.

Re: Dead ECM

Big thanks to Dave for testing. I often think our ECM location was some sort of an afterthought by GM. They could have thought that out a bit more.

Re: Dead ECM fixed

After shipping my ECM to two different members kind enough to test it in their trucks where it ran. ??? But not in mine??? After checking a slew of connections and continuity on numerous wires, all good, I bought a rebuilt and it started.

No way to be 100% sure what was wrong but it's running now.

Thanks to Eric and DaveP.
