Door VIN tag

This caught my attention before and today I am more curious as to what may be going on here. My truck is 678 and the door vin appears to have a 7 over the 6 and just looks funny and bothers me. The tag up on the dash reads 678, as well as in the glove box, Anyone have a idea or everyone else have cleaner door tags?

Re: Door VIN tag

I have got a question about the door vin tag.

Does anyone know anything about how the #'s were done on the door tag?? No I am not up to anything illegal... Just got off the phone with some B/S VIN tag reproducers and its a song and dance. They did not want to tell me anything.

I explain to them I have a GM vehicle that has original vin tag on door (using my syclone for direct reference). I asked what they have Like a type writer? or some type of thing to punch in the numbers? They look like they are punched in with a type writer style stamping.. But what do I know it was my guess I could be totally off does not look printed. So they were keeping there mouth shut and say sounds like something we cant do.

The door vin tag on the "project typhoon" is a re-issued state tag with the same Original VIN. I would like to put the door vin tag back on but I would like to know how it was done from GM or PAS.
