Anybody up to test some prototype code?
I've got some new boost stuff, and another thing that needs a guinea pig.

It's all bench tested ok so far, but the real world is another thing entirely.

I usually dry run this on my own stuff first, but 689 is asleep for the long
winter...

depends on the potential to be dangerous...

Got the converter installed... Will have the battery moved soon and hopefully the alky not long after that.

I'm not in the habit of handing people grenades with pins pulled. :)

I'm generally much more nervous about test chips than the person
testing.

The boost code I'm very confident of, it's had a bit more bench time,
and is less of a deviation from the stock code.

The other thing worries me only because it's such a deviation from the
way things are done now.

Sounds Like Fun

Sounds Like Fun

I'm in Ohio for training right now, but I should be back in time to catch up with you later on Saturday (assuming my truck will start after sitting for 6 weeks).

Just put an alky kit in, but haven't done any tuning with it.

its about a 85% chance that the syclone will be making it.

6 months sitting on jackstands, im ready to beat the living shit out of it and see how long this roadmaster lasts :p

i dont know if im up for chip testing though... have to wait and see how the truck is liking its new bolt ons...

maybe though... talk to me long enough and convince me :)

Well, the boost thing is intended to fix (or at least improve) a long-
standing problem... cold-day boost spikes/hot day not enough boost.
Basically, the new code sets up a table for a correction to init WGDC
based on the current MAT temp.

Practically sells itself. :)

interesting idea dig, it really is a common prob with all controllers. Wont do much on my side as im using a controller and an external gate.

got fittings for the trans cooler today, should be able to finish that up tomorrow or early this week. Waiting for some battery connectors from JC for my relocate. Which of course the alky is dependant on.

Meeting at Doug's House

Hey Gang:

For all those coming...

For Dig and those coming from the south on US-1 watch the speed limits on A1A (cops are nasty) and Construction on US-1, not a traffic problem but just be careful as construction equipment and baricades can block vision...

For those coming from the north, watch the construction on Murrell... again construction equipment and barricades can block your vision...

For those that may still need directions... email me directly... ty1937@earthlink.net

Drive carefully and hope that the forcast for warmer weather holds true...

Thanks for the heads-up. See y'all saturday.

Heck, if it's above 30 deg it's warmer weather, as far as I'm concerned...

thanks again dig-doug-scott-spitty mouth-fargo-guy.

Had fun and fixed a few things. More than anything, getting to see the process and understand whats to be done with the mess of boxes and wires will help me get a running start when we can scrounge up an o2 and an autoprom.

Thanks

Thanks

Much thanks to Dig for testing my TY and finding out I need a tune up...

It will be done in the next month or so as time permits...

Thanks to all for coming... you are all welcome at any time...

I fart in your general direction.

I blame it on the humidity. :)

It alway seems like there's something that bogs the process down... a
tailpipe that you can't put the pipe into, wiring snafus, etc. It's generally
a lot smoother process once you know what the hookup issues for your
particular truck are.

I really need to minimize the mess of wires somehow, though. I'm thinkin'
the autoprom would help that a ton, since it at least integrates 2 of the
cables.

It was fun to get slammed into the passenger seat a few dozen times
again... hopefully, the snow will clear relatively soon around here, such
that I can do some more testing on the boost stuff and the new VE.

It was also neat to see the reaction of the wide-band to being behind a
catcon on Rob's truck... this is something I've never had the opportunity
to test. Got some good alky data, as well, the temp reduction was quite
impressive.

Gettin' Diggy Wid It

Gettin' Diggy Wid It

Dig,

Glad you enjoyed the ride.

I've lowered my base fuel pressure as you suggested - Hopefully that will reduce the knock we saw at the higher boost level (seemed to have worked for Tooky). Just need to get DataMaster on there and prove it out.

Also working on getting that pesky dry cell battery relocated to the back..Although it does seem to be starting more reliably now. Wait, did I say reliable? Ha! - Almost forgot I was describing a Syclone...
