I pushed my stock original engine to 450 whp with no problems. The key is good fuel, good tuning and moderate timing. I never used a knock sensor either.

stop showing off!!!!!!!!! lol j-k

Im sure im stepping into muddy waters with this question but how do you get away with that? Are there any drawbacks? Im assuming youhad to do pretty routine runs to make sure everythign was running ok. Also, how do you do this ECM wise?

I'm wondering the same thing.

Did you at least use the knock sensor to tune it?

Re: engine limits?

knock sensors suck, you dont need them, all you have to do is turn off the sensor on tunerpro or tunercat, to get away with it, run good gas and keep a eye on everything, and adjust with caution.

Re: engine limits?

I think having a knock sensor is a great thing for the average syty'er ....Getting them to work correctly on our trucks can be a pain in the ass though....especially after building a motor up....built motors seem to be making more noise....my stock truck has a great working knock sensor system....my built motor truck is constantly displaying knock....even when you just blip the throttle in neutral....I would take the time to set your knock system up to where it reports useful data....you can blow your motor up very easily...Phil can get away with this because he has tons of experience and knowledge...he is special  ....A sure way to disable the knock sensor is get ahold of an old Kenne Bell Kaboom chip and pop it in. :D ...or you could go into tunerpro and zero out all the "ESC Attack rate vs. RPM" values....
