Front Grille Removal / Plastic push pins?

Hi, so i just bought my first typhoon after about 6 years of searching. I wanted a teal one and found one in my price range only about 15miles away from me. it needs some work but its mostly cosmetic stuff. Anyway, one of my front corner lights is out and decided to replace it today... i guess there are supposed to be 2 (10mm?) bolts on the underside of the grille along with the 8 torx screws, however instead of bolts there are two headless plastic push pins with a pointed bottom shoved in there and i cant get them to budge for the life of me. Is this factory? has anyone else came across this? am i even looking at the right spot? any suggestions?

yea. im in the bay area,CA. my truck is a 92, #2255. cant tell from the pics but its got really bad peeling clear coat and paint, will probably need a full paint job, some cracked cladding that im sending to sportmachines, getting ready to do shocks and bushings... but its 100% stock runs pretty good 96k miles

Doesn't appear you have what I linked.
If I were you I'd cut the "head" that you have pictured off. Pull the grill remove whats left and replace with the part I linked.
You may even be able to push it through from the bottom with a punch or dowel.
The part I linked you just pull up on the grill and it comes out.

Front Grille Removal / Plastic push pins?

Congrats on the Teal purchase, I've owned mine for 11 years now. I can't see the pics on tapatalk, but if they are the clips I'm thinking of use one hand with long needle nose from the bottom to squeeze them while using the other to lift the grille, goodluck.

Ok after viewing the pics in web view, I'd take some 90 degree long needle nose and pull em out or tear the head off from the bottom.

Goodluck with the truck

I've actually encountered 3 different types. 1-botls with screw on clips 2-plastic locking pins like the door panel ones 3- rubber type pointed things where it just snaps in place. So not really sure which one of those is factory but totally different ways to remove it.
In the Bay Area?.. Was this truck in San Bruno by chance? If so, I think I was gonna buy it about 3 years ago. Where in the bay area are you located?
