I checked the fuel pressure at the rail today and its 38 with a stock reg. @ idle. How do I adjust it to 43 or can I even or does it even matter the 5 psi diff. I have had a slight hesitation issue off the line ever since i picked her up in april. Haven't raced and don't plan on it for a while. Done all the FAQ except fuel pump which i have just no time and haven't checked timing and well thats about it I think and cylinder press. could be checked.

38 at idle sounds about right. But you will get hollered at for testing it in this manner. What you gotta do is pull the vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator port and plug it with your thumb or a pen or a screwdriver or something. Then check fuel pressure that way. Otherwise the engine vacuum is going to skew readings. When you check it in this manner it is called "base fuel pressure".

The other way to test it is to jumper a wire across the fuel pump test connector to the positive terminals on the firewall which runs the fuel pump without the motor running. This is what I use but no one has ever verified for me if it is as "safe" to set FP using this method as it is with the first one.

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (AFPR)? They are about $100. If you don't have one then you can't adjust fuel pressure unless you want to put your stock FPR in a vise and crush it a little bit which works for the turbo 4-cyl Dodge guys but is definitely not recommended.

Tooky, I'd recommend putting your head in a vice and crushing it for merely suggesting that crap.
Geesh, whats wrong with the water up there, or is it the cheese>?

Spend the dough, get the AFPR and do it once right rather than trial and error until your engine goes.

Are you some kind of retard? What part of "definitely not recommended" did you miss? If you thought I was seriously suggesting that he try it, then you have some real comprehension issues.

I said basically "There's no way to do it without an AFPR unless you want to crush your stock unit." Which is the same style as saying "There's no way to know what decaptiation feels like unless you have it done to you personally." Do you really think the person in either case is actually recommending the action being "suggested"?
