GM Technician from NM

Hey all, I'm Wayne, I'm from Albuquerque, NM. Been working on GM cars/trucks for about 6 years now. I've always loved the SY/TY trucks. An uncle of mine had a TY for a while. Good times. I'm on here looking, Researching and whatnot in hopes of someday owning a Syclone of my own.

Quick question I can not seem to find an answer to: Is there ANY way to reverse the order of the posts shown so I dont have to go to the last page of a topic to find the first post? Every other forum I'm on displays them first post-first page and newest post on the last page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Wayne

Re: GM Technician from NM

Ohh I might. They break very infrequently in stock applications.. I've had most of the ones I've worked on apart only due to planetary gear noise. I dont know much about upgrading them, I've really only done repairs or replacements. (yeah.. I'm the tranny guy) I'm a hotrodder at heart and I'll do whatever I can to help mod/upgrade/research whatever I'm capable of! (having GM resources doesnt hurt either.. in spite of the bankruptcy)

Re: GM Technician from NM

So your saying owning a ST/TY is essentially the same as owning a Ducati? (As I do) It makes you a technician by default as your always tinkering with it and fixing what broke...? lol. At least thats my case. I guess the major difference is someone's paying me to fix the dang things.. (not the Ducati..)

Owning a syty will make the Ducati seem easy to live with:lol:. Welcome to a world of pain.

Hi Rat, I live in Ruidoso and have an original 37k mile Sy. For such a small town(9000 people) we have quite a few neat vehicles- at least two Sy's,one Ty,and three Trailblaser SS's(one supercharged).Welcome to the board.

Oh I'm used to the world of pain.. I had a 1999 V6 Dakota I converted to a full EFI 408" stroker with N2O. (and all the other associated upgrades) It ran consistantly... but the Mods and constant tweaks and tunes and whatnot were a complete PITA Sold it a few months back for pennies on the dollar.. It just sat for the last 2 years. I'm working on building (ground up) a 1926 Model T, Currently housing an LS1 (builder) and a Powerglide.

Re: GM Technician from NM

The top'll lose 6" the floor will be channeled 3" (thats the current project.. build new floor skeleton) It'll sit up and beg with or without the top chopped... the 1800lbs (eduacated guess) and 450hp (goal for N/A) should be more than enough to help it get it up (and have me begging it to stay straight). I'll get some more pics on here of the progress later on when I'm at home. Greetings Fellow New Mexicans! I'm enjoying the forum so far, and God bless the "Your Favorite Chick Pic" NWS thread.

Re: GM Technician from NM

Start a thread in off topic for the model T . Dont worry about how long it takes because theres trucks on the forum that have been on jack stands for more than 4 years.

Whew.. Its only been on a rolling cart for 2 years now... hasnt even made it up to Jackstands yet! Maybe after I get some rolling gear under it (solid front axle, Ford 9" /ladderbars/QA1's)

Where does one find anything odd and out of the way... EBAY!! It was up in Pueblo Colorado. For as solid as it is I think it was a good deal. 2 small cancers behind the doors, very minor dents and dings at random places.

Best. Noob. Quote. EVAR!

I try.
