My grey cladding started to look bad in some spots, loss of moisture? I started using Meguiars Endurance tire gell. Looks good and holds up well!

Gray cladding is painted, and should be treated just like the paint on the rest of the truck.

The black cladding isn't painted. The finish on it tends to oxidize and can get almost gray. Black Chrome and such help reverse that oxidation, or it can be buffed off.

I didn't have much luck treating it like the rest of the truck. It would look great when I was polishing or waxing, but soon after it went back to the dry look. I tried using the tire gel and it looks good and lasts.

I'll either use Meguiars Endurance tire gel or this other stuff called Black Magik. Either way, after I apply the stuff I'll leave my truck parked in the sun for a while to kind of bake it in. Then I'll wipe it off thoroughly cause if you leave it on there thick, when you drive around you'll get shit sticking to your cladding. You can pick either of them up at any Pep Boys.

To any of the guys with the flat black cladding like the Syclone's have, don't let the scarcity of Turtle Wax Black Chrome put you off from seeking it out, obtaining it, and using it!! The stuff works like nothing else I've seen. No, it's not a "miracle" because it is somewhat difficult to apply evenly but for the best results it's worth it and it doesn't look sticky. Here's what you're looking for:

I got that image from http://waxdepot.safeshopper.com/50/420.htm?855 although I have never bought anything from that site so I can't vouch for it.

I've never seen any good results from waxing the stock syclone cladding.

Word is its purely a clearcoat finish, but from my experience is that it would be difficult to re-finish in the same way.

why waxing it doesnt work, I dont know.

I have a problem with my black cladding. After i wash my car i use spray amorall tire foam. I let it sit for like two hours and drip off the wheels. Then after a spins the carp is all over my cladding. The problem is that it won't come off! How do i get it off? I was thinking of a degreaser. Anyway to clean your car use BC2. I have original paint and i can honestly say as do all the comments i get that it works very well!

On my 92 Blk/ BLk all I do is use wax. At the begining of this year I clayed the whole truck, including cladding, then had it buffed, and then waxed the whole thing. It came out great, and held up until now. I will be doing this again right before I go down to E-Town this weekend, so if anyone that there wants to take a look, be my guest. My truck has the original paint and the cladding had never been painted. I think it looks good, and most people that look at pics of it, ask me if it has been painted. Just my two cents, lata,

If your cladding is still in good shape, try 303 Protectant to keep it that way. It's similar to Armor All in consistency...

I've tried a few different things on my cladding. Mother's Trim Detailer (I think that's what it's called) seems to do a pretty good job of bringing the black back. The 303 does a nice job protecting it (and my tires, without making them super-reflective-shiny), but doesn't do much to bring the color back. Applying it right after the Detailer seemed to suck the color right back out. I actually found that if I used the Detailer on the cladding, then washed the Sy, then used the 303, it would stay black and protected. I'd still like to do a few more tests, but I'm not washing it as much now that it's getting colder...

Petroleum-based products are supposedly quite bad for the materials used in the cladding. 303 is supposed to be better for vinyl, rubber and fiberglass. It does a good job keeping the dust off the dash too...

This is the shit. Almost looks like paint with no streaking. I washed my truck first, cleaned the cladding with glass cleaner, then initially applied 2 coats the first time. Now just one coat about every 2-3 washes.

Its available online and costs $6.95

Just in case anyone is confused...ALL TYPHOONS have painted cladding. If you put any tire dressing on it I will torture your groin.

I thought this was one of those debated topics that nobody ever figured out, that at least some of the Ty's with black cladding had the "unfinished" Sy cladding...

I have grey cladding. It is dull in places, I have tried polish and wax, but they last about 20 minutes. Then it looks faded again. I tried the endurance and haven't had a problem since, looks good and lasts long!
