The harbor freight dollies suck! Good luck moving a vehicle with out 10 people pushing it.

X2. And I had a perfectly smooth garage floor to boot...

My garage floor is perfectly smooth and coated and there was zero chance of me rotating my truck by myself. Took 6 guys pushing with everything we had to spin it around and I thought the wheels were going to snap off. You get what you pay for but I was very disappointed

The green SoGT has the 1500 lb dollies, and it was a bit of work to push it by my lonesome. But that was on the driveway. Once I got it into the shop, it rolled alot easier (smoother floor).:2cents:

Actually almost 4x as much since you only get one for that price.

Oof, I was actually thinking about returning these and getting the nicer ones. $160 vs. $100 was worth considering, but $320 is a much bigger chunk of change.

A lot of the comments mention greasing the casters made it work a lot better. One guy stated that he and his wife were able to spin his 3100 lb. Z06 without any problems. Another guy said that it worked fine on his Suburban.

My goal is not to use these a whole lot (I've heard that some SyTy's actually move under their own power) so hopefully they'll be good enough for my light, occasional use. Having a big garage with only two doors is a great way to build up a Tetris-like collection of dead vehicles...

Wow! You guys are a bunch of pussies. I have the cheap ass harbor freight dollies and I could move the entire truck by myself and I'm no muscle man.

I had my sy on a set of those. The trans was out of the truck. I was trying to push the truck over a small crack in the garage and I pushed the sy off the front dolly. Which flipped up into the wheel well of the truck, and destroyed my wheel arch cladding. My dumb fault more than the dolly, but I won't use them again.

I had the EXACT thing happen using a similar dolly. A raised portion of the pavement caused the casters to hit the edge of the crack causing the two front units to "slide rearward" into my cladding. :(

Had to jack the front end to dislodge the dollies. Afterwards I wondered if setting the emergency brake would have helped. But since the dollies are "shallow" in containing the tire, I serious doubted that it would have prevented incident.

Not saying that everyone would experience the problem, but I've had less issues using a big ole floor jack (moving cars in the body shop) rather than at home with these inexpensive dollies. :2cents:

I filled the seams in the shop so I could roll it over. Worked great.

Re: Harbor Freight sale that should interest SyTy owners

I actually got around to using these to shuffle vehicles around in my garage a few days ago. Overall, I'm pretty happy with them, for what they are.

The casters don't like to swivel all that well with weight on them. This made it a bit of a pain when I wanted to switch directions. However, it made it simple to move the Sy by myself. I simply pulled on the Sy's wheels to slide it sideways from bay #2 to bay #1. For the most part, the truck stayed straight even though I was pulling on only one end.

I then got the Saturn out of the corner behind bay #2 and pushed the Sy back into the corner. When I got past bay #2 and had to angle it, it was a bit difficult due to the casters not wanting to swivel all that well. I used a hammer to tap them so they were all pointed in the right direction, which helps. However, they did seem to want to swivel more when I wanted them to stay straight. I'm sure it would've been easier to control with a second person too.

You need to jack the truck up relatively high to get the dolly under the tire, and my AC Delco floor jack doesn't lift all that high. I ended up jacking it up by the A-arms and rear axle, which put the lifting right where it was needed, but also meant cramming more stuff all in one spot.

If I were going to be using these to shuffle cars around a lot, the nicer ones would probably be worth the extra money. As a low-usage item for when I need to move something that won't move itself, it's fine. Being able to just slide the Sy over to the next bay to get at other things was tremendously helpful, since my driveway is only about one carlength (lack of room) and sloped (pushing uphill sucks).
