HELP im getting stressed.

OK its like this. I've had knock from day one and have been trying to get the better of it.
What i have just tried.
Full vac pipe kit ( from the GP and its a great kit:tup: )
Taylor leads
ur5 plugs gapped to 28
Conrad cap and rotor
New knock sensor @14 foot pounds
New fuel filter
Checked the timing again
Checked the balancer had not slipped.
Checked fuel pipes\down pipe\heat shields and every thing else i can see for false knock.
Fitted orig air box with K&N filter
Fuel pressure at 42 stock fpr

Before this i was running with a cone air filter no char canister and data-master showed
14.7 boost @ wot but knock was up to 15:eek:

After the parts data-master was showing
16.8 boost :shocked!: but knock was down to 12

So does anyone know why the parts i fitted caused the boost to rise and what the F**K is causing the knock.:hissyfit:

Only mods are a pitbull street chip and borla exhaust.
If someone could email me a DM file on a stock or near stock truck so i could compare i would be grateful. ( palmer2003@btinternet.com )

Compared with this truck even the wife is easy to live with.

The ATR Pitbull uses and open loop boost control. Basically it mean that it just run the boost control solenoid at certain duty cycle (ie bleeds off a certain amount of air in the vacuum lines so the wastegate actuator opens higher than 8-9 psi base)

Basically you can control your boost by adjusting the wastegate actuator rod length, longer mean low boost. (this doesn't not work with a closed loop boost control like the ultimate or stock chip) If you truck is reading higher psi, it mean one of two thing, its running better and it always was trying to get to higher boost or you wastegate is working properly (either its sticky or maybe a problem with the wastegate actuator.)

I would try lower your boost anyways, because if your seeing knock running higher pressure if only gojng to make it worse.

Re: HELP im getting stressed.

Are you sure the petrol you're using isn't crappy? Can you buy Zylene there in the UK? If so, dump a couple of gallons in a mostly full tank. The Zylene won't affect anything in your fueling system for this short test. Do this, then see if your knock drops substantially.
Are you getting above 13 volts at the ECM? Is your coil good? Change in knock/boost could be a combination of differences with plugs/fixed vac leak.

Re: HELP im getting stressed.

back down your timing some and the knock will go away. set your boost where you want with no knock.. then gradually add timing until you get knock then back it off.

see where you are at then.

maybe your timing is off.
