This man speaks the truth. I may not post here a lot but HID is something I know. OEM retrofits are the way to go. Check out the www.hidplanet.com forums to learn the in's and out's of HID.

Notice the clean defined cutoff. I'm not saying his kit is bad, but nothing will beat oem. All of those flares will blind oncoming traffic and bring the attention of the police for sure.

Our trucks have to have aftermarket housings installed to allow using the hid's anyway . Its not like you can cut your glass headlight to put them in . I have been running 6000k hid's in my aztek and s-10 for years without driver blinding or extra tickets . No need for all the ^&*%^%^%!!!!wicked said:

Both of my applications have the dome in the middle of the headlight housings to direct the light forward whether I have hid or stock lights in there .
They look no different coming down the road than my friends bmw x5 or moms mercedes benz .
Maybe you are referring to this type of housing below ? That I see being blinding like looking into the sun , but Ive never seen a set of those on the street , at least any with hids anyway :dunno:
Either way , hids are 1000x better then oem style lighting , but yes , they should be installed with the safety of you and others drivers on the road .

Just to let you know the bi-xenon kit I am selling has a HID shield is simular to the one pictured in the top lamp MRKING posted.
From what I understand this shield is used for non projector lamps, hid and higher output halogens, this also prevent blinding other drivers. If you ever see a hid bulb without the shield it's bright as hell :lol:

That's exactly what I said previously and even posted up the link to the shields if they didn't come with the shields built in.. eitherway you know im in stock lighting sucks balls even wiht the high end h4 lights.. Also I will do a write up of the install and results vs stock with pics if you need me to.. just keep in touch

So basically your saying that with bi-xeon HIDs with built in shields used in conjunction with glass aftermarket h4 conversion housings will cause more glare to all other drivers then normal lighting? What about if there properly adjusted?
If you were in the market for HID lighting for your syty.. what would you go with? and why?

As long as you use the shielding with glass lenses and adjust the lights properly, and whoever reads this post in the future does the same, all should be well.
There are a lot of cars out here in the PNW that have HID conversions in stock non-HID lamps. They spread light and should have never been converted. A lot of people just don't know that this is the case...
I am glad it has lasted three pages, and I hope whoever reads this in the future gets the point. HIDs aren't a bolt-in mod and need other considerations, whether it be a SyTy, Supra, or Geo Metro.

I put HID's in my full size truck. check it out here.

It takes 9006's so it's only 1 bulb for the low beams, I don't even use my high's anymore.
I did point them down a little bit to prevent blinding people and haven't beem high beamed by other people yet.

This is a a H4 high low kit (not a b-xenon). The difference is that the high beam is a halogen. No relays or extra wiring needed. This don't have the H4 shield.
This is is a little more than the single hid kit but not as much as the bi-xenon kit, I had order this to try it out.
