intermittent wipers

I have the problem with my turn signals that when I push that lever my wipers occasionally will go off. I pulled it all apart and cleaned the contacts this weekend, but its still there.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem. This problem was addressed during a previous post. There are a few differint posts that talk about this problem so You will have to search for correct one. Hope this helps.

ha!!! what a coincidence! mine just did that same thing today... im not sure if its always done it, i think this is the first time ive ever used my turn signal. my wipers also work without my key in the ignition, i found that one out, when i came out of the store to a dead battery. good to see GM's quality assurance team doing their best.

GM had a quality assurance team for the SyTy project?

Looks like there are a few possible solutions...
From the list:
------------------
the problem is under the plastic wiper motor cover. There is a tab of metal
that is not grabbing a plastic wheel. If you run the wipers with the cover
off you will see this metal tab will skip over the plastic wheel. Fiddle
with the metal tab and the wipers will park. It is in the pulse washer
system actually, not the wipers. when you go to reinstall the wiper motor
cover make sure you have the plastic wheel under the cover in the right spot
or it will not bolt on correctly. Hope this helps.

For those that emailed me and asked me to send them what I found out.. this
seems to be the consensus... thanx Ron

Moose here;
Haa, the mysterious wiper wipe.
It's not the turn signal lever, it's the switch way down deep inside.

I've cleaned this switch twice, but it's starting to cycle again.

You've got to remove the steering wheel and the guts behind it along
with the wiring down the steering column. It's a pain, but doable without
special tools, well except one.
I don't know the part number but it's a black square shaped housing
with, um, about six wires.

You might want to replace the lever anyway if the markings are
rubbing off.

I was just responding to DefiledSy's little joke. If you don't like it, you can suck my balls.

Furthermore, who are you to tell me how and where to write my posts? I've noticed you've taken it upon yourself lately to become the self-appointed Messageboard Police. I find this incredibly arrogant and I wonder who else also feels that way. When someone with authority tells me I'm posting in the wrong place, then I'll do something about it. To the best of my knowledge no one else has a problem with where I post my topics besides you, so you're nothing more than someone who has a chip on their shoulder and can't let it go without trying to annoy everyone else with your personal bickering.

PS: For anyone who doesn't want to read this. I have tried to contact Daron via email to resolve his dispute but he told me not to email him anymore and he no longer replies to my emails, so I have no alternatives.

This is a "technical" forum and will remain that way. If you aren't adding to the topic at hand take it elsewhere. Trash another board with your crap.
