I have heard a rumor that this is the last year for Kansas City International Raceway. What I heard is that the track is being sold and the land being developed. Anybody hear anything like this? I don't know how much truth is behind this, I found out from one of my bosses at work, her husband does a lot of drag racing in Missouri.

If I had a dollar for everytime Ive heard this rumor or a similar rumor for both of my local tracks, I would have a Marlboro by now :lol:

All I know is we have a signed contract for September.
If it closes after that then I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
All the other tracks we look at are lots more $$$.
Gateway Int'l in St. Louis was triple what KCIR is.
MAR in Wentzville, MO closed last yearand that pushed ALOT of business KCIR's way.
Also there has been a lot of money invested into resurfacing the first 60', the burnout box and the staging areas.
Now if only we could get them to revamp the bathrooms and put an awning over the stands.
