Keyless Entry Remote still available?

Ok, i was wanting to see if the factory style keyless entry remote was still available so that i can have that part of my Ty working again. I found the part number 15955516 thru some searching some oldr threads, and checked it on gmpartsdirect.com and it didnt come up as a good number, so is there a new number for th correct GMC remote? Or ami just SOL.


Also i have seen this one on ebay that says it will work in place of the factory unit, does anybody know if this is true?

It says it will work for a 93, but is 92 the same?

I was woundering the same thing? I need one also and saw the e-bay replacement. Wanna flip to see who will test it out first :lol: ? Seriously though, if you do try it and it works please post back and let us know.

Best bet would be to get one for a 91-94 Bravada,they work fine. HERE"S 2 remotes for $10 BIN

OK, well the 15955516 number has been superseded back in 94 to a new number of 15686032 and the list price is 117.66, and you can get it for half that plus 16 bucks shipping thru www.gmpartsdirect.com or 87 bucks out the door.

The guy on ebay has a good used one for 15 bucks shipped, so im going to go that route for now and how it works for a long time.

Just to let you guys know, I got my two used remotes from "WildBill" off of e-gay today and they work great! Had to put new batteries but at $15.00 ea., what a deal! He as more and the later models do work.

Let me ask this question. I had an alarm in my truck installed from the previous owner. He also gave me one of these factory keyless entry things which it didnt work. Anyway i ended up removing the alarm because it was crap and when i tested the keyless from factory it works. I think the aftermarket alarm was interfering with it some how but my real question is this. If i buy another one how do you get it to work with my truck. Of course they cant all work with every GMC truck or do they? Is there a way to program the keyless to work with your specific truck?

I am wondering the same thing, when i bought my ty the previous owner had lost the remote.

Well here a link the guys info i bought my brand new one off of and got it for 26.55 plus shipping and it worked great once i got it. Didnt even have to put batteris in it.

Im sure if you email hin he has some more and will let them go pretty cheap.


Also once you get a new remote or two, all you have to do is take a wire and jump the upper right which is A and the lower left which is Gi think with the key off and you will see and hear th door locks cycle then just hit one of the buttons on each remote one at a time and wiat a sec and then remove the jumper wire and they should work just fine.
