Guys, I was readin on the web that you could possibly swap front disc brakes from a FWD GM vehicle that had larger discs. But then I realized that most GM FWD cars had a srut type suspension setup which wouldnt work. So I thought why wouldn't larger disc fit from a full size GM pickup?? Possible just swap the front spindle along with the bearing??? These are somethings that would have to be addressed first though....
1. Is there a GM truck that actually has larger front disc??
2. Does it have front ABS sensors in the bearing to tie into our system??
3. Is the spindle going to be roughly the same overall hieght as stock??
4. Will our stock CV shaft fit in the spline of the new bearing??
I know some guys are running duel piston calipers with slightly larger rotors from a 1998+ s-series, but doesnt seem worth it to me, besides maybe the extra holding force when Brake torquing?? And Im to cheap to spend the big bucks on the Baar upgrades. I installed the rear disc from the LS1 and what to find something the same for the front. Can anyone add some info to this?? Fern Sy#477
