Re: Local HELP PLEASE

you should get the FP up to 45ish... the truck will run rough with the vac line off but once you put the line back on it should go back to idling and running fine. So the chip was in correct the whole time?

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

No the chip was flipped, but after I flipped it to the correct way, It ran worst.

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

are you sure you have it aligned on the pins correctly in the same position as the picture I posted? That should have made a world of difference with the chip in correctly. You didn't bend any pins, and you made sure it was seated properly when you put it back in right? Any Check engine light?

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

I took the chip and held it up to the screen and made sure that it matched. No bent pins and I have checked multiple times to make sure everything was seated properly.

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

that doesn't make any sense... you could try pulling the ECM fuse and let the computer "reset" and then re-learn with the chip in there properly. No promises with that, it's just an idea. It has to be something stupid if the truck ran ok before you changed injectors/chip. Sure you don't have a vacuum leak since you had the upper plenum and vac lines off while swapping injectors?

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

when I had the 50's in my truck it would barely run with anything less that 40psi base fuel pressure. I don't know what your chip is meant for but the ultimate I used called for 50lbs base, so it was 42 at idle with the vac line hooked back up and 65 at 15psi of boost.

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

At this point everything is a good idea. We actually replaced vac lines. I will try letting the ECM re-learn when I get home from school. How long does that take? Just a ballpark figure.

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

I would get the fuel pressure turned up to 45psi if you haven't already. Pull the ECM fuse and leave it out for 10-15mins I guess then put it back in and fire the truck up and let it idle. You should hear it trying to "find itself" I also agree with HARMON, check the plugs. You had the truck running like crap beacuse of a. the chip not being seated right and b. the stock MEMCAL piggy backed backwards. You may have fouled the plugs. They should also be gapped around .028-.032. what are they gapped at?

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

I'll try that when I get home. not sure what plugs are in it and not sure what they are gapped to. I will let you know, thanks again

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

By the looks of the plugs, I dont think it is possible to get an richer. The plugs are ACDelco R42TS. they are gapped to about .036. I does stay running for very long even with the fuel pressure at 25lbs.

With only 25lbs of fuel pressure, fuel was coming out of the exhaust.

I think the chip is way off

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

Holly hell that thing is pig rich! I really find it hard to believe the chip is THAT far off just idling around though... You MAY have fouled the plugs up when the chip was in wrong and now they're not firing properly. I wouldn't put those plugs back in regardless. Get some NGK UR6's and gap them at .032.

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

I don't want to change them until I figure out what's wrong, I'm on college and really have extra money laying around. I think if I change them, they will look the same not to long after. It seems the chip is giving the engine way way to much fuel

Those plugs are totally fouled out!.....Yer truck would run pig rich and like total chit with those plugs. It would be dumping fuel through the exhaust because there is hardly no spark going on.

I would spend the 15 bucks on some ngk's to rule this problem out. I have a feeling once you pop some new plugs in it will run good for you. Those plugs look like they have been in there for a long time too.

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

X2... Put plugs in it like Harmon and I suggested. What do you have to lose besides a couple bucks?

Re: Local HELP PLEASE

I changed the plugs about 2 weeks ago when I brought it to the dyno the first time. But I guess I'll try changing them again. Do either of you guys have a 50# chip that I can borrow just to rule out that it is the chip if changing the plugs doesn't work?
