i'll take a 1992 any day over a 1993, i love my seats.. way more side support and not retarded big like the fat man seats in the 93s.

Re: Looking for a cheap(er) 93 Ty

If I bought another 93, I would put in 92 seats. To me both 92 and 93 have positive and negatives. Most of the differences are realtively minor IMO or easily correctible (93 Gold Decals or the 92 Door Eschuceons)

OK. I am NOT trying to "hook up" Adam. He's a friend. This should probably be in a PM to him, but because this is now "in the open", I'll post here. If he can post his opinion openly, I can too.

My observations in the FS section have been that the 92s and 93 are priced according to condition and content (specifically color and mods), and not on their desirability depending on which year it is. I haven't seen any tendency to price 93s higher because of the year.

Adam's rant regarding "92s are shit" is counterproductive to his desire to buy a 93 for cheap. He obviously thinks 93s are better, so he must be willing to pay more for a 93 with otherwise identical 'value' than a 92. So anyone with a 93 that is for sale should be able to extract a "premium" in price from him. If your contacted by him regarding the purchase of your 93, double the price. He has been very vocal in his desire to own a 93 over a 92, this implies he'll pay much more for a 93, so let him do so.

Some of us own darn nice 92s. And some of us are actively trying to sell our 92s for a fair price, (in our opinion). We're a small community, and the 92-bashing by "SyTy King Pins" is getting old. I feel it is detrimental to opinion regarding what the value of our 92s is in the eye of a potential buyer, as the potential buyer will weigh the 'anti-92 sentiment' into what he perceives the value of the deal to be.

I accept there may be a value / price difference between the years because of 'desirability'. But I'm not comfortable sitting by idly and watching the value of my 92 be influenced by prominent members (thinking it's "all in fun") when I am actively trying to sell a very nice 92.

Let's keep it in the Chat Room, Adam.

Agreed with above. I like them all for the most part. Any and all sytys have potential to be Valuable depending on how they have been taken care of.

Nope, im not trying to downplay any value on the 92s...I just dont personally like them due to the mentioned differences, I never mentioned about them being shitter as far as build quality, faster, etc. (though we joke about that in chat) My feeling about them is pure personal preference of I just dont like the 92. I dont think that makes them worth any less or any more for that matter.....and no, I wont pay any more of a premium for either year truck (unless it comes down to color combo)......I just wont buy one period. I dont need a Typhoon. Notice I never said anything directed towards everyone saying "dont buy 92s"...its all "I dont like, I hate..." I... as in me. Individual. SYO237, Adam, etc.

I know what I want, and I know what I want to pay. I know there are deals out there to be had and I can sit and wait till the right one comes along. Ive had my fair share of offers on 92s and actually currently was eyeballing one as of a few days ago. Its just in the long run, Im going to be happier with a 93.

Now, do I mean to downplay those who have 92s for sale right now? Nope, sell em and get your moneys worth. Most of the market right now is 92s...which sucks for us who are looking for 93s ;)

If someone really takes my personal opinion on a 92s and my dislikes for them and trys to use that to sway someone trying to sell one, I'll outright kick the interested buyer in the balls myself. Its my personal opinion on the 92s, i have absolutely no say whatsoever in price influence. If someone thinks that I can influence people like that, please let me know, cause I guess I have more power than I know about. There are those who hate the 93s just the same.

So my point... my opinion on 92s is my opinion and my opinion alone. I dont like them over the 93s, but would consider one maybe for the right price and condition as mentioned in the very first post. Chill out, quit reading that deep into it like I have some sort of focused power to stop 92 sales.

And as for the bashing, remember I was the first one to comment on Dave's truck about it being one of the most reliable trucks on this board and would stand behind it as a good buy.....and its a 92. That wasnt a joke. :2cents:

Dave, If I offended you in any way, accept my apology as Im not trying to take anything away from you or any other person selling 92s.

Re: Looking for a cheap(er) 93 Ty

back on topic since this thread wasnt meant to go in the direction its going....

Im simply looking for a decently good 93 typhoon that isnt a complete project truck that someone wants to dump or get rid of quickly.

Again...I will *maybe* consider 92s, but again...its gotta be in the price range and reasonable condition all the same. My preference is 93, but if its a nice enough 92, i'll honestly take a good look at it.
