I seem to remember bg or somebody saying that it will work with syty's but it was actually the pinout of the TCC on the auto trans cars.

I have a PCM sitting at home that was out of a Turbo Sunbird, and I don't think that it has been messed with at all.....I can try to get the bin file read and saved/emailed to you, although it might be a few days.....

If you get it to work post what you did. I've looked over the m/t bins for the turbo sunbird and tried to enable it in the prom with no luck. I think it is nonfunctional code as a guy I work with has a turbo sunbird with a m/t and it has no shift light.

Our binary file download database has over 500 valid stock OEM binary files!! There are at least 3 for the turbo 2.0 L available, and 2 of them are for manual trans applications.

All information such as description, transmission, part number, scan id, platform, emissions, etc., was obtained by matching each binary file against the official GM bcc catalog, so this information is extremely accurate to say the least.

The memcal / eprom part number for each binary file is linked directly to the Gmpartsdirect site. These are the latest known superceded part numbers, and will be updated as new part number designations are obtained. If you want to purchase the actual memcal for your custom tuning work, or just need a few extra, this linking feature is quite convenient.

We have also added a new upload feature (located in the downloads section) so that you can submit an authentic stock binary that you have obtained from your own application. We will classify the file and add it to the database.

shift light

shift light

Instead of going through all that, use a msd rpm activated switch and wire it into the shift light wire qoing to the dash... you can use the stock msd resistor "chips" or a variable one made from a 0 to 5 k pot....

One school of thought dictates that to shift a manual properly for low et you should be shifting at a
different rpm for each gear determined by where the needle falls after each shift. You want it to land
just after peak torque. Pushing 1st gear to 6000 rpm is a waste of time if shifting at 4500 is all
ya need to land at 3600 for 2nd

the shift light LOGIC that I am playing with is calculated by load, throttle position, rpm, and the gear
that you are in so not only can you set max performance for each gear, but also for all driving
conditions as well ie fuel economy etc

otherwise I could just shift every gear at 5800 RPM and leave it at that (keep in mind its a Vortec)

Addendum:
We have had to put up a little security system, so if you are prompted for a login, just use this :

Username : syty

Password : turbo

Sorry for the inconvience this creates, but weve had some rather interesting abuse attempts on our website recently :(

thanks (I've grabbed a few things)

jwaller is right- The tcc and shift light share the same wire. You can use it for one or the other but not both. So if you want to use the shift light, your gonna have to disable the tcc lock up or you can modify the code to use an unused output for the shift light, and run that to the shift light.

I figured that...
for me thats not an issue (5 spd manual) but someone else might have concern
