My truck doesn't feel like its boosting

Oh that's an easy fix.
Just turn down the boost :wink:

Actually T-bolt clamps keep mine from popping off anymore.

well...i'm only running base boost of 7psi right now. so its hardly a lot. I've torqued down the clamps as hard as possible. Before the IC started popping off...every other clamp leading to the ic popped off. I can't keep the IC on now though. I'll prolly just weld a bead around the throttle body so it has something to hold onto.

If you didnt put the IC support brackets back in after rebuilding your engine, then the hose will continue popping off. Try some plumbers strap around the IC.

I used a piece of scrap 2x4 stuffed between the IC and A/C box...that worked pretty well

Yeah, mine did that too and it scared the crap out of me, I thought I blew her up. I just put a socket on the end and made sure it was really tight, I also bought some supports, but it hasn't happened again.

That used to happen to me all the time.

Make sure you have all three brackets on the IC,it should be rock solid with the brackets on and in the right place.

Mine was missing the center bracket,and both long ones were on the #2 exhaust stud.I made a center bracket,moved the crooked long one to #6,and haven't had it happen since.

When I bought my Ty, it had been leaking at the IC/TB. Owner told me the Turbo was dead/dying because it did have the turbo kick anymore. Someone had forgotton to tighten the clamp, it had been like that for a while because their was quite a bit of carbon build on the outside of TB.

I have my stock brackets if you want 'em Renz. I am stepping up to a real intercooler, so I don't need 'em anymore :wink:

Edit - put a lock washer in with the bolts on the bottom of your IC, they will never come off.

I only use one bracket. No problems here...but then again I've only driven 20 miles or so...till today :fist:

Before I gave the Sy up to Green *Cough* Del Sol *Cough*....I had the same problem. But I think it was because too much boost. Weld that POS and call it a day. :wink:

i'm only using one of the 3 brackets currently. didn't feel like putting the other two on. i might at least add the one that goes to the lower intkae.

or i'll make a bracket to connect to the lower 2 throttle body bolts. i dunno...we'll see what happens.

thanks for the offer for the brackets - but i still have mine.

i don't plan on having the stock ic too much longer either.
