Ok guys, 40 days till departure, lets get a little more talk about what we wanna do, where we wanna meet and anything else that might have been overlooked.

I also went ahead and reorganized the orignal post on page 1 by breaking up everyone into groups by location based on where everyone will be starting out or will be meeting up with on the way.

Having one person "in charge" of each group would be nice so we can check to make sure everyone in ready and rolling to keep things on time.

I think I've decided to take the syclone, although, I'm not going to race it. I just want to take my best truck to the nats but.... I still have concerns.... I've only driven it 700 miles in the past 3 years ....worried about it breaking down...and of course the comfort factor. Now, I will be driving in the naste caravan so I'll have help if something does happen. I'll bring tools, diacom and a few extra parts. But, the typhoon is a much more comfortable ride then the syclone. I drive it everyday and feel more confident about it's readiness. Decisions decisions.

I may hook up with you guys at some point for this journey too. I'd have to figure out when you will be passing through Ohio on I-70 and go from there.

Did anybody bother to look at the map I made???

Columbus Ohio, 5:00 AM. Thats the "planned" time we will be passing through if all goes well and we leave Pittsburgh at 2:00AM at the latest. Not sure how far away you are in relation to Columbus, but thats the plan as of now.
I'd like to join the caravan at the St Louis area as well. i was looking at the map and calculating times... seems that you will be moving at decent clip. It's tough to average 60MPH as a group. Trust me that through StL you'd be lucky to average 50MPH. Factoring in other cities I'd guess that you'll be a little behind schedule.

Anyway, if you remain on those times (or within an hour) I'd be happy to join. I can make arrangements for meeting at the Casino Queen just before crossing the Mississippi River at St Louis. Occasionally they have car shows there so it wouldn't be a problem... besides I have connections too. It would be a great place for a break and meet up with... say... Chigago? Indy? Nashville?

Let me know if I need to make arrangements, could probably get an area in the parking lot reserved for us.

Just depends on timing.

Be nice to get some of the NE's fastest SyTys out to represent.
If anyone wants to contact me about meeting up, I log in everyday to check messages. I can contribute with a cell phone number. Like I said before I am guessing that St Louis will be closer to 1-2pm but we'll know more later.

HOPE TO MEET UP WITH YOU ALL.

I am set to go Thursday morning from StL heading 70W anytime.
If you guys don't make it hear by noon we might get a head start.

So far its me towing Ty and 2 Syclones driving out of StL.
We'll meet up with Jon and the Apsen SGT also towing.

Roughly 4 hr trip from here as we will not be breaking any speed records with lots of $$$ rolling 3' off the ground.

Morgan, I'll PM you my cell try to call me about 60-75 miles out of StL.
Plan is to meet you along Highway 70W around St. Charles/St. Peters area as the exits are large and we can just merge in. That's about 25-30 miles inside the MO border after you cross the Mississippi.

This all sounds good and can work for me. I made a suggestion above to meet at the Casino Queen parking lot right at the IL/MO line along hwy 70. It's convenient, safe and very easy to find. We wouldn't have to worry about merging into traffic either. I'm not sure where you are coming from Morgan, but if it's out of your way then I don't want to confuse anyone about where to meet, just offering another option.

That's east of me, not going east to get west, sorry.
If you like Jon, since you are so Far east you can pick them up there and us up in St charles. Either way is no biggie.

Can anyone speak up for the TN, GA southeast caravans?

How about down south?

Wonder if anyone in KC is aware of the storm that is about to roll in...

That would be OK with me. I didn't realize that you were that far west.
I'll meet up with everyone anywhere that works out best. Since you have
my number, I can meet up with anyone North or East and meet you around
St Charles / St Peters area. I'd call with ETA once we are on our way.
If nobody wants to join me then I'll just meet you wherever.

PS...Is anyone coming Thursday from the Chicago/Indy/Louiville areas?
You'd have to be in StL by NOON or so. I guess anyone passing through
StL could join me.

Sounds good Jason. Unfortunately, I havent got a clue as to whats going on. Ive had a few other people contact me privately about going, gave them the link for the thread, but they havent posted or given me any solid information to work with.

So at this point, If I get all my shit together in time, Im just gonna drive down to Mikes house in south Jersey and we'll drive out together. Whoever wants to meet up along I-70 is more than welcome.

If its just Mike and myself, perhaps we'll try to leave NJ a few hours earlier and get out to PA/WV/OH area and rest for a bit, then meet up with the OH people since a good portion of our drive will be on I-76 in PA.

Unfortunately its hard to plan for other people when they wait till the last minute to do everything.

Once things get closer, I should have a better idea of if and when we'll be able to meet up.

Yup, no time like the present for problems to start cropping up.

My TCS 9.11 recently developed a shudder while under lockup.
Looks like we are gonna be swapping converters this week.

Yeah, I wont even have my trans and converter back until tomorrow or wednesday at the earliest, and even then I cant install them cause Im redoing my tranny lines, which may require me overnighting or 2-daying some parts :(

I hate coming down to the wire on these things.

Yeah, I still need to replace my fuel tank yet. Gonna replace the pump while I'm in there. Not as much work as you Morgan but it's still gotta get done. Hopefully, I'll start today and finish up tomorrow. I've decided to take the typhoon.

Hey guys! I've been quiet so far because we're trailering and didn't want to hold y'all up (as Jas' said, no speed records here), but I wanted to let you know what we're doing, as you'll probably catch up with us somewhere on 70. Dad and I are picking up Bob Galla and leaving Baltimore around 6pm Thursday with any luck, heading out I-68 to Morgantown WV, up I-79 to I-70 in Washington PA. My uncle that visited from KY last weekend said that the PA Turnpike is a mess from Breezewood to New Stanton (where 76 and 70 run together) so we're gonna try to avoid the narrow lanes with the trailer.

My cell is 610.223.7445 if anyone wants to find out where we are along the way. If anyone wants to PM/email me theirs, that's cool.

Good luck getting everything running guys, been there and done that. You'll be happy you did it after it's all said and done.

See y'all on the road!
Aaron
