Oil restrictor

Looking for a oil restrictor for a PTE turbo. I cant remember if my feed is 3an or 4an. Its the original PAS braided line. I am looking to bump the pressure down @ the turbo. Im pretty sure I was pushing 80psi and it blew my turbo and seals out of my engine.

Re: Oil restrictor

I had a regular 4.3 that did that to seals replaced the pump was still kicking over 100 psi what causes that? Rebuilt the motor but could never figure it out.

Re: Oil restrictor

Oem turbo oil feed line was in 4AN but if you
want to reduce to 3AN size they have a reducer
fitting to do this check at Jegs or Summit ..

You can buy them through PTE, they aren't that expensive (~$20). If you have a Ball bearing turbo you need a different restrictor than a Journal bearing turbo.

Re: Oil restrictor

I think my oil was sllightly overfilled causing this issue.

Is there ever a chance some of the oil in the COOLER lines and cooler stay back and can cause this problem? I changed the oil 1x and I think back and I did everything right, Just not sure if some oil had stay in the lines or some where in the system when I drain and a extra qt was left behind. Oil was not draining in the return backing up and spitting out in the turbo cold side. No restriction needed. 80psi is ok
