Not to thread jack but don't want to start another one, I was driving my Syclone yesterday and put around 100 miles on it and almost semi-catastrophic like the front end just took off to the left in a REAL bad way. I haven't checked anything yet but never have driven a car/truck and had it driving perfect on day and then the next its like driving a wrecked one. I had to drive it home w/the steering wheel cocked to the right about 1/5 way just to keep it going down the road straight and I was fighting it! Hopefully its just a slipped belt in one of the tires but I afraid its not :(

first thing that comes to mind is underinflation of the left front tire...if it's not, it sounds dangerous!! also something may have dried up during hibernation...

Tires are about 5 years old but not worn that much but I'll start w/switching tires as soon as I can get them off. Whatever it is or was, it came apart fast  Sucks too cause I had just got the SY fixed yesterday and got a $107 break from the dealer

If a low tire made it pull that much, it would probably be flappin'...
Sudden onset suggests ball joint failure, pitman arm or idler arm failure.
All are death-knells for your truck if you drive it...so Don't.
I have ZQ8 box, poly bushings @ A arms, and new Moog Problem Solver idler arm and pitman arm. Steering was still a bit vague until the steering shaft replaced w/ Flaming River shaft and NO rag joint...it's definitely NOT needed. WHAT a difference that made...it's now tighter that a rack & pinion.
Set the steering gear-box so that you can feel the 'tight spot' when you crank on the tire to turn the steering lock to lock.
HTH, Worked for me!

Looking at my Sy and just pulling the stock steering shaft out- most of the play in my wheel was due to the rag joint.

I need to get rid of that. Im so used to driving direct acting cars now.... They Sy/Ty will really feel like 14 year old trucks.

i'm pretty sure jeremy had tire failure shortly after this post...and the number one cause of premature tire failure is underinflation...

Where did you pick that shaft up?

I'm looking to do the ZQ8 box and replace that shaft soon.

I got mine at Driveline Specialties here in San Jose CA
You should be able to find it in Fla by going to the Flaming River website and looking for dealers in your area.
I don't have the URL handy, but just run a Google search and it will pop up as well as lots of places that carry it.
