Pulled my motor out last night

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

Did you make sure the dipstick clears the mains if you used different ones from stock? Also, the Eagle rods will hit the oil pan - you need to hammer out a small dent there to give clearance.

Happiness is a freesh block..

Good luck, looks fun :)

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

It's finally running again !!! :D. The only bad part is waiting to get enough miles on it to try out some boost. I know my picture taking skills suck but you get the idea.

That Supra is very nice (well, so is the Syclone). I have owned a bunch of performance cars but never a Toyota Supra but I have seen a couple pushing between 650 and 900 HP reliably.....and those numbers were at the wheels!!

Thank's guys! That 72 shortbed in the background is one of my future projects. Like most of you I have a car disease that I can't get rid of... don't really want to either!

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

I really just want to leave the Syclone stock and unmodified other than stronger internal engine parts. It probably won't be seeing much more than stock boost because I want it to last for a long time and just enjoy the truck. I hope I can control myself enough to stick to that plan. The horsepower will not be much more than factory though, I just want a reliable Syclone.

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

i don't want to hurt your feelings, but your maincaps are not Syty caps. they should have an N stamped on it instead of F.

nice garage man!

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

what was the final cost?

I would have to add everything up but off the top of my head with machine work and everything about $2,500 to $3,000 dollars.

Never new that. That motor had never been out of the truck untill I pulled it (original). What is the difference between the N and the F..... is one stronger?

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

when i recall the N stands for nodulair. they are a bit stronger than the F ones.
i wouldn't be scared about it, but i doubt it's still the original engine.

Re: Pulled my motor out last night

no problem, don't worry and be happy. but digging in the history of the truck could be cool,
