Recommended boost controller

Curious what you faster guys are using to control your boost pressure and based on that, what brand you recommend. My boost on a WOT shift bleeds off about 2-3 pounds and I am losing that torque for a second or two. I want the boost level to stay consistent throughout the pull. Thanks in advance.

Re: Recommended boost controller

How fast are you going and what are you using for control now? Also, what are you using for a chip? If you are on code59, the stock code seems to be a fair contender for the job if you figure out how to use it. I know that you have the option of getting an aftermarket solenoid for better control on the bigger turbos but still using 59. I personally am going with the ISAC for my TY because it will be integrated with my alky. Nice features on that one, you can pull boost when AFR's lean out, all kinds of things. But it serves as an alky and boost controller.

Jeff and Paul gave me some pointers using 59 to control boost and I use it on the wife's TY and have to say I was VERY impressed with it.

Re: Recommended boost controller

Shaun has a FAST system so the stock boost control logic isn't' an option.

He isn't looking for the most fancy controller, just something that works and is somewhat simple to program.

FAST doesn't control boost? I have used the Greddy Profec B. Cant say it is the easiest to use but once you figure it out it isnt too bad. I know of one for sale.

Re: Recommended boost controller

Looked through some extra goodies and I have a Blitz SBC black box with in/out outlets and also a dark silverish colored Blitz SBC i-D sequential boost controller box. Looks like I am missing something though...possibly a gauge.

Would this be worth pursuing location of the missing part(s)? I can take a pic to show what I have on hand is that would help.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Recommended boost controller

Thanks much guys for the feedback. I offered $800 for this one this morning and got a counter-offer of $850 from the seller. Buy or pass?

I am gonna check out the ones you guys recommended as well. Hoping to stay at $500 or under but if I need to go higher for better quality, it is no biggie.

Those type of controllers are for cars that have problems w/hooking up well ,running different tracks, ramping up the boost , etc, need to ask yourself,, do you really need all those features on a all WD truck?:2cents:

$800 for a controller? Funk that man, plenty of products for half of half of that that will work just as good.

I use a manual boost controller at the moment. I will be moving to an AMS500 soonam

Whantever you get, learn how to use it properly. That is more of an issue than the controller itself.
