I wish... I would be having a lot more fun as a 23 year old than a 42 year old and as a bonus I would have a lot more hair!

I've bead blasted a full set and aircraft stripped two wheels, all 6 of them needed extra time to strip whatever "gray matter" was in the turbine pockets. Understandably the clear coat would probably have more bite on the rough surface vs. the machined surface, it still doesn't explain why the raw metal looks different after it is stripped, especially when using chemical strippers and globs of gray comes off, where the rest of the wheel is just clear.
