Rumors of KCIR being sold?

One of my coworkers is telling me that KCIR might have sold?
Supposedly his sister works for some company, that bought the land for condos.
I don't see any event list for 2006 so I am at a loss. A quick search of KC Star articles reveals nothing.

Anyone heard any different?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised, it would be the 2nd Mo/Kan track to close in the last year.

With recent renovations, improvements and investments at the track I doubt they would be selling, but money talks. Like I said MAR closed down end of last season so KCIR has taken over many of their pro level events. In essence I would think that would bolster their profits and they would be in even better financial shape this coming year.

We have a contract for the track rental for Nats, but have not paid the deposit yet.
The commitee is trying to contact Jeff directly to get word on whether a 2006 event schedule will take place.

Until we hear something solid from a KCIR employee/owner I wouldn't sweat it.

The committee has spoken with Jeff at KCIR and they are not sold, nor selling any time soon.

The contract stills stands, we are on for September in KC!
