DUDE you got a TATTOO
This is kind of long so bear with me,
About two weeks ago, I was running errands around town and was totally impressed with how my sy was running. It seemed like it was running much stronger than it has since i've owned it. Well, in the meantime of me flogging the shit out of it, I wen't to my local Motomart and put about half a tank of 92. I drove another 10-12 miles ( I kind of babied it) out to my dad's house and it started running terrible. missing, cutting out, would't hardly pull it's self. I assumed that I got some trash or water in my gasoline. So I poured a can of HEET into it thinking it would help and a few gallons of Methanol. It helped slightly, but no major improvement. At this point I siphoned all the gas out when I got home and put in 93 ***from somewhere else*** and it ran/idled smoother. At this point I was noticing that the stock boost gauge would not hardly move from inbetween boost and vacuum.
I then changed my fuel filter (noticed the previous owner had it on backwards) ......and that helped again but not a major gain. So, I run the trouble codes and find that code 34 (if i remember correctly) anyway the code for M.A.P. sensor has been set. I then remove the map sensor and test it with the volt meter and a vacuum gauge and it tested bad. So today I purchased a new M.A.P. and just put it on and no gain. The truck will run shitty then every third or fourth time i get into the throttle will pull pretty good. and then I will notice the air/fuel ratio gauge going VERY lean so I then back out of it.
I just can't figure this out. I don't have access to a datamaster or I would try that. Is there any thing else I should look for??
Thanks for all your help guys, and sorry for the long post.
