Second Time is the Charm

Hello Fellas,

I have been a long time lurker on this forum and have lusted after many of the typhoons on this board. I put a deposit on one a couple years ago, but it caught on fire before I could take delivery. I have gone through sweeping life changes (got married, had a kid), all of which slowed my quest for typhoon ownership; until today. I just recently purchased Ty #2069, which has a short history on this site. Bought off Ebay, listing is here if you feel like looking. I am really excited and will likely ask a thousand questions. I also have a vette, which I have done some work on, and a Pontiac G8 GT, which I have not touched due to not wanting to void the warranty. I am located in Pcola, FL and will be looking for "local" events to roll to periodically, if any exist.
Well, that is about it. I will get some pics when I get her home.

Looks like a great buy. I just bought the red one that was on ebay a week or so ago :) gets delivered this wednesday! I'd get those rust bubbles taken care of ASAP, but I'm sure you know that. Congrats!

Hey Chris I live in Destin and here is a link to my almost completed truck. Been building it for 3.5yrs total and never driven it farther than Bryant Racing to pick up my 6AL-2.

There is another local on here.... JLcolvin lives in C-view and works in Mary Esther.

There is a meet coming up in Savannah, Ga that My fiance, my dad, and I are planning on going to. Here is the link. Oh yeah and if everything works out we should have a 3 car hauler and only my dad's Ty and my Sy on it. Could be room for yours.

Checked out the link to your Sy, that thing is going to be SICK. I don't know about the Shingdig thing yet, although it looks like a great time. I will have to make a decision soon though to save myself $10. I am hoping to have a better idea of the condition of the truck and if it will be ready for an event like that in a couple weeks.
Speaking of which, I bought it off of a guy here who goes by Yeti so I am hoping for the best as far as condition. If anyone has any further background on the truck I would love to hear it. It seems like a great buy, but I have been around this forum long enough to know that these trucks take alot of wrenching and time.

Well, got her home and she died in the driveway. I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Looks to be the shifter cable, but while I was under there I found oil and tranny fluid on the frame and dripping. Looks like I have some work cut out for me. I expected to get my hands dirty with this one. Thank goodness the Ty isn't my daily driver. I will be in the vault if anyone needs me.

Chris

PS Pics will be posted when I can get some daylight pics

It is a good buy, the market been so soft on these, a year or two ago that would been 9-10k truck .
Not a fan of the wheels, but different is good.

The wheels came with it, and for now they will have to do. Once I get all the engine and drivetrain issues figured out, I think a nice set of C5 or C6 wheels will make their way on to the truck.

congrats, now go get your self some jack stands

I had the truck one day and already had jackstands under it. Looks like I am going to spend as much time under the truck as in it.

Damn...$6500? NICE. IMO, you got a deal on that truck.

Thanks, I think so too. There is def some general cleaning up to do and some leaks to plug, but she runs and I can't help smiling when the turbo winds up.
