Selling advice needed

I have struggled to sell my 93 Ty locally either on ebay or craigslist. I think the biggest problem is the mileage, which stands around 176,000. There are no mods, interior/exterior in pretty good shape. The Nada & KBB websites have it worth around 9-11K even with mileage and I was asking way below book ($7000). I am pretty new to the forum and don't have selling privileges yet, but I wanted some advice or tips on how to price my vehicle or what a fair price is.

I think with the market being at a pretty low situation, you might have a hard time getting what the book says your truck is worth. There have been a few trucks with lower mileage selling for less than "value". Pictures are a must when listing a truck on the net.Stock vehicles can be a plus when selling. Modded vehicles sometimes scare a buyer away. It's usually a specific thing when it comes to finding a buyer. Some people would like stock, others would like mods.Good luck with the sale.

Re: Selling advice needed

it is currently on Austin Craigslist. I am 3rd owner, trans/engine is original, only customizations are 17" wheels/tires, truck was repainted at one point, no stock stereo, steeing wheel or gauges, they were replaced by previous owner. Truck needs some work, hoses, vacuum seals, replacement intake. I figued rather than fixing then selling, I would just sell as is.

I paid 5k for mine 3 years ago with 163k on it when it was stock. Its no were neer stock now and have 165k on it and i have been getting alot of decent offers, I think the last one was 15k But it all depends on how clean the truck is and how it runs.

9-11K is overrated for 176K mile Ty. High mileage really scare people off with these Trucks. In good working order I would expect to somewhere near $6K, so in somewa your asking price is reasonable if your willing to negotiate. However, If its need works I think your really over priced at $7K. If it doesn't run good and high miles, you are going to scare off a lot buyers and might be lucky to get $5k for it.

Re: Selling advice needed

I have mine for sale on the autotrader for $7900. It has 90k and sounds like it is in alot better condition than yours. For $900 more you get something that basically needs nothing. Hope this will help with your pricing. :D

Re: Selling advice needed

Some guy came and saw it in person & offered me 5K on the spot about 2 weeks ago. I balked at the offer, but after all your helpful feedback, I may reconsider the offer. The dude told me to call him back if I reconsidered. Thanks guys

Re: Selling advice needed

I will probably wait 2 months before selling. Unfortunately I have a loan on it & if I sell for less than payoff, then I have to get the remainder out of pocket. I will wait until payoff is near sale price. I have a new daily driver & Ty will be parked.
