Shifting trouble

My 93 Typhoon with 22,000 miles on it is not shifting until I hit high RPMs. I drove it last night about 30 miles it run and shifted fine. Today after work I got it washed drove it for about 10 miles it ran great. Did a couple boost launches drove it for about 10 more miles then came home it sat for about 2 hours. Drove it to a dinner it wound not shift unless I went to a high RPM like 4000 to 4500. What makes our truck shift? I had a new turbo, injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, vacuum lines, EGR delete, and a TT chip install about a week ago no problems until today. I hope to make the Carlisle show.

Doubt it is your problem since nothing changed with the transmission.

Re: Shifting trouble

The fact you did a couple boost launches might be the key. Not such a good idea.

Re: Shifting trouble

I had a similiar issue with my Sy early this season. Drove to the gas station, shifted fine. Get back into it a few hours later and wouldnt shift until high rpm's. On mine, I physically pushed down on the TV cable on the throttle body and could barely feel the solenoid at the trans free up. It must have been getting stuck for some reason. Took for another spin and its been fine ever since.

Re: Shifting trouble

Might try setting the TV cable correctly.

With your left hand, push the TV cable button in and hold it,with your right hand just pull the cable to the right (drivers side.) Let go of the cable and the button. Twist the throttle linkage to WOT.The TV cable will ratchet "click click click" into it's desired position.

That's it.
