Hey Josh,
My Ty does the same thing. It's got 221K on it, and it's the valve seals. The best thing to do is to either fix em, or leave em. After learning about the differences about the engine, you should ONLY USE Mobil 1 10W30. I've had friends tell me that they've had the oil solidify in the turbo lines, and you have to CHISEL the crap out, or buy new lines. Come to find out, he had used regular oil in the vehicle (Luckily not a Sy or Ty), and this had occurred. Even GM recommends using Mobil 1 in the service manual. The synthetic oil is engineered especia;;y for high-performance/turbo-charged engines. I would hate to see you blow your truck up just from using the wrong kind of oil. Better safe than sorry.

mobil is all thats ever been in it. I was just wondering about using the "high mileage" stuff thats suppose to help the seals and stuff for a few hundred miles. maybe it will help. oil change is coming up for 005 in jan so I might give it a try. the truck only sees about 2-3k miles a year so its sits a lot.
