Someone tried to steal my Ty

Someone popped the lock in my Ty ripping the door apart. Did not steal anything and I guess got spooked. What is my best plan of attack. I was getting some pieces painted already and recently i notice some paint issues on the roof so there is no better time than to paint the entire truck. Do I try and source a replacement door? Do I shave the locks off the door? Do I shave the entire door? What is everyone thoughts?

car alarm, GPS immobiliser/tracker and ideally a decent camera with a DVR where you park it if possible.

New door + total respray.

Glad you managed to keep the truck. I guess with them being more popular on Forza, more are going to get stolen.

ALWAYS pull the ECM-B fuse,that stops it from being started. NEVER leave it out on the street,a rollback can grab it in 2 minutes.MOVE. Live around decent people,they won't try to steal your shit.

Geez, I might start locking mine now at home.. The GPS is kind of a cool idea. Someone tried a break in on mine through the back door, ripped off handle and tried prying/breaking lock.. Happened at work in a parking garage, which is kinda weird, but I guess "they" were cutting cats for scrap in the same place.

These trucks pissed me off in forza, max everything out in any class and still lose to a stupid datsun with 1000hp.

I guess that's why everyone should have full coverage/stated vaule on their truck. If GPS led me to the stripped out hulk of my truck,and I didn't have insurance?

After mine was stolen - I put the steel steering column collar on it (stock is plastic and easy to h/w), and had an ignition switch with a lock that I put in place of the cigarette lighter on the dash - one like the coke machine with the circular key - keeps it pretty theft proof - in addition to the alarm w/ ignition kill and pager.

If you have door handle plastic shrouds and don't use them - mind giving me a price on them? My paint guy threw mine out 10 years ago planning to replace them - when he found out he couldn't....

Good luck w/ the rest - spent $12k on full color change (windows out / doors removed) to Porsche Red - wish I'd have shaved the roof rack now - probably will w/ next touch up.

and keep garaged - after 9 months in paint shop, and covered trailer ride home, some kid keyed her driver door less than 4 hrs after I got her home. Never can be too paranoid about it now....

My truck was broken into on the passengers side so I just shaved the door lock on that side since I never used it anyways. I wouldn't replace the whole door IMO.

Shaving the locks and or handles does no good, they just stick a flat bar in the top of the window frame and force the window down unti the regulator snaps off. $1800 in damage to steal a $200 radio and a $150 camara, out of the console. The insurance company wasn't happy when they found out that the dash pad isn't a changaable piece and they had to replace the whole dash.

Wire in a kill switch to a toggle that's hidden. That way if its not a pro coming after your truck it will just turn over no start. If they want it bad enough they will flat bed or hook it.

I have Allstate and they told me they didn't do stated value.. Do you know who does?

get an appraisal done and insure it as a classic with hagarty for the value of the appraisal.

State farm is working on a stated value policy for me. Not done yet though.

If your ins co doesnt do stated value,it's time to find another ins co.

Think about it,you are paying for "Incase shit happens" If they don't offer that service,find somebody who does,because shit happens.

State farm does it as well. They were cheaper than hagerty when I quoted them both.
