stock balancer / timing mark question

there is a groove cut in the stock balancer, but mine also has a white line on it....the previous owner had no idea what he was doing (not saying that I do either! :rotf: )

but without actually finding TDC with a piston stop etc, which one should I use? setting timing at 0, with brown wire disconnected of course, using the white line....engine idles real rough. Just wasnt sure if the white line was from the factory, or the grove to set actual initial timing

Re: stock balancer / timing mark question

our stock dampeners have been known to "slide" a bit.

Mine seems to be right on but I still have the urge to check tdc with a piston stop to settle my concerns.

thats actually high on my list of things to do when I pull it out of hibernation here in a few days/weeks depending on my schedule at work.

Re: stock balancer / timing mark question

The previous owner was probably setting the timing to 0 with the computer hooked up
