Sy 1252 in pieces

Figured I'd post the current condition of my Sy. After 1 hour, 45 mins I have yanked the nose off of the truck. Thank god for air tools!!! Fenders, grille, bumper, and hood have been removed. Only broke 1 tab on the cladding- not bad.
Now the fun begins- replacing motor mounts, torsion bar mounts, taking the stainless headers (for stock, L-35's and Vortec's) off and replacing them w/ stock (well, almost stock  ) manifolds, pulling the 3" d/p (for stock turbos), and detailing/ polishing/ painting everything and anything under the hood.
If anyone has any interest in the headers or d/p, let me know. I'll give you the specs.
Keep your fingers crossed for me to have it ready by September.

Morgan- I'll send you pics of the headers and d/p to put on the for sale page once I have them off.

Update:

DS header is unbolted and off the x-over pipe. Now i have to remove the steering shaft to get it out. Started to unbolt the d/p from the turbo. Bent my Allen-head key on the second bolt. The damn thing is in there!!!
Again, I am returning the truck to STOCK and I don't need the headers. I will post pics when i have them off.
Once I get the headers and D/P out, let the detailing begin!! Anyone have ideas on how to clean up some of the wiring (like hiding it, re-routing, etc???). please let me know.

Thanks-

Hi,

The headers and d/p on the truck were custom made by a shop out in kentucky. Personally, I think they're better looking, better functioning and easier to change plugs (with pass. side wheelwell out, 10 minutes, with drivers side wheelwell in and rim off, 13 minutes. No special tools used, just a 3/8 " rachet, extension, and plug socket) than the KB's and ATR's. I will have pics within the next few weeks.

Once again I have snapped. I have decided to remove the engine from the truck. I am buying a hoist this weekend (due to BOTH projects requiring frequent use) so I can yank it. Figure it's the easiest way to remove the:
-Convertor
-headers and downpipe
-change the motor mounts
-clean/detail engine/ engine bay

Any ideas, as always, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks-

Hey Adam,

Yup, it's Christians. Don't know about it running 'damn fast' since I only had a chance to drive it home from the trans shop in Jersey (at a blissful 45 mph) and once down to CT to figure out the problems w/ it. The A/C is damn cold, though...

Since then, it's been sitting in the garage collecting dust. Once I find and fix all of the problems (the problem list seems to grow larger everyday), it'll be up for sale.

Update:

Radiator support, radiator, A/C condenser, all brackets and pullies/ accessories have been removed.

Headers and Downpipe are off!!!! I will polish them tonight and put up pics. I have to wait on call backs but they should be up for sale shortly. I will keep everyone updated.

I found the sources of my truck running so crappy: both motor mounts are shot and the ps torsion bar mount is broken in 2 different pieces. I also found split vacuum lines and a boost controller that was malfunctioning. I also tried my stock wastegate which was not functioning (vacuum issues). I have all NEW parts to fix the truck.

Morgan: will send pics of everything.....

Hey all,

quick update- the garage that was full of parts is now just a small pile of bolts. Engine is back in w/ the JS motor mounts, painted frame rails, plated clamps/ clips, polished lines, painted engine, re-sprayed brackets and pullies (stock colors) and everything has been de-greased, cleaned, etc.
Still have to do:
-Radiator support -fenders, hood
-Plug in all the wires -entire nose
-transfer case support bar (sux)
-Torsion bar mounts

Then, off comes the bed to remove the Borla cat-back and replace it with a stock exhuast including the cat (Dave, where are ya???).
if anyone can host some pics or wants to see some, drop me an email. The Sy will be up for sale when finished.

Thanks-

Hey George, send some pics to me, not like ALL of them, but like 5 or 6 of your best would be cool. Whenever people send me loads of pics, my e-mail gets totally screwed and takes forever to d/l them all

Whats up with the exhaust? dont like the borla? I guess u already have a contact for an orginal exhaust, but if not, Tim N down here in NJ has an almost BRAND NEW Syclone exhaust from the cat back that hes selling, just incase.

Sounds like ur bustin ur ass up there. I just my new front tires today (backs probably tomorrow), and hartman finally shipped out my internals for my tranny. soon i will be back in good shape........i hope....

Update:

The Sy is basically back together. However, every time I step into the garage something goes wrong. had to change the starter seloniod, and I snapped the heads off the bolts. So, new starter. Moved the a/c condenser and cracked a line. Now I need a new a/c line. I think the Sy knows it's almost finished and it must bust my NUTS until I see it drive off into the sunset.
All that's left: fenders, hood, grille, front bumper and CCHE. Oh yeah, exhaust and torsion bar mount. It should be running by next week.
Then it's the Buicks turn.
If anyone is interested in the Sy, I will post pics after its together and I buff it out.
