Aeroking
e.i.
Well, i have a small project planned.
First step. Bottom end.
The engine in my truck right now is a late model S-10 4.3L, with stock SyTy top end. The shortblock is a GM crate engine with about 3500 miles on it.
I recently purchased a stock Typhoon shortblock, about 90k on it.
My planned build sheet includes:
- Stock block (to be cleaned and checked)
- Stock crankshaft (possible cryo treatment)
- Melling Oil pump
- Stock mains
- Comp Cams true double roller timing set
- Comp Cams 415 camshaft
- Comp Cams 850 roller lifters
- Eagle H-beam rods
- Speedpro forged aluminum dished pistons
- hardened pushrods
- all ARP hardware
- Solid motor mounts
This will be the first stage. I will get to the top end, and drivetrain later on. Once the shortblock is done, i'll pull the motor outta the truck, and swap the top-end over. It'll be a slow process, caus i dont have all my funds upfront.
But I only wanna pull the motor once, so I'm trying to do this right. I'll probably never break into the low 12s or even 11s, but i wanna be sure my bottom end could go that far.
