timing?

My ass. Look at it.
did you clean the injectors while you were in there? I think its a 3/4" hex head on that fitting, just unscrew it and clean it with some sensor friendly cleaner.

When I cleaned mine, it looked like it had been in someones ass. ::puker::

datamaster is showing the rpm jumping 700 to 725 to 750 700 750 725 etc
what do you think this is from?

while i am no mechanic, has anyone mentioned maybe your balancer has spun, and when you set it to TDC you might actually be setting at a lower number, that might explain why it runs a little better with the timing bumped up a degree or two. just a thought. good luck

Only 50 rpm?, hmmmmmm, what does it do when you rev it a little? Like at 1k or 1.5k?

Your problem acts a little bit like mine (injectors), but I dont have the godaweful knock you do, then again, I try to take it easy on it. :)

I wouldnt even get into boost until you fix your problem, If you absolutely HAVE to drive it, disconnect the electrical harness from the boost solenoid (on the turbo), that way you can only make base boost (8psi) and wont poop out a rod (as easy).
