I know a few people in Carlisle...I'll ask around. Long shot, but I'll see.

NC has something called "prayer for judgement continued"
MD has something called "probation in lieu of judgement"

What that means is you get a second chance, if you don't get another ticket for a specified period. Does PA have anything like that? Good luck anyway.

i always either call the cop or just show up to traffic court early and make friends with the cop and ask him if he'd be willing to reduce the mph so that your insurance won't go up. Lawyer won't do much good besides trying to make friends with the cop for you....unless you think their equipment was faulty or you weren't actually at fault.

The goal is 5mph over becuase thats a 0 point ticket. OR what i shoot for is "posted sign violation" which is 0 points also. you still get the fine but whoopie.

Thats what I'm hoping for...but the Trpr was of the female gender and not from my neck of the woods

In Indiana, just show up for court, and the cop doesn't show most of the time. I just went to court for the 5th time I think, no cop = case dismissed. If cop does show up, you can plead guilty and go with the "safe driver" option, if you have less than 6 points on your license. Pay $150 bucks, and no additional points, and it isn't reported to the DMV or your insurance.

Ya and in the Pa our troopers get paid to go to court so the chance of them not showing up is almost as good as buying a unmolested Sy/Ty!
Just keep your fingers crossed we get one hell of a snowstorm and they all have to be out on traffic accidents.

Re: Traffic Lawyer in PA ???

I live about 30-45mins from Carlisle, PA. Honestly, I got out of my last 4 or 5 speeding tickets. Call it luck, but I always seem to find a way around them. If you want me to take a look at your ticket, I'll be glad to give you my view point. We could meet off of I-81. I guess you would take I-83 to I-81 North and get off the Lebanon Exit.

To help you out ahead of time, is there any mistakes on the ticket. Anything spelled wrong, did he get the color of your vehicle correct. Is your drivers number correct. If everything is correct on the ticket, you won't be able to get out of it as easily. Another thing you can do is just sign not guilty (which I assume you already did). Show up about 20min early to the court hearing. When the officer arrives ask to speak to him. Just be honest and respectful and ask if he could give you a smaller fine/ticket. Normally they are willing to work with you. Send me a PM if you want to call me or something or meet up.

Also, can you give me info on how he was able to know your speed. This matters also when fighting your ticket. Was it a state police or local police?

Re: Traffic Lawyer in PA ???

Its a PA State Trpr. Everything on the ticket checks out. She apparently got me on radar, although my Passprort radar never even blipped...I was in the left lane as I was passing her and she was already rolling as I was coming up on her.

The ticket reads as "S 75 §3362 §§A1.1-21 EXCEED 65 MPH FOR ALL VEHICLES BY 21MPH"

I entered a Not Guilty plea, and have the hearing scheduled for 1/21 at District Court in Mechanicsburg. I'm coming from NY (3 hours away) so I will be there early. I forgot what she even looks like but I remember that she was black and wasn't nasty to me, and she didn't care what I had on me from NY officers & troopers

Since the ticket checks out, you do have some other avenues. First of all, I would talk to her in person before you even go into the hearing. Simply ask her respectfully if you can talk to her before the hearing. If she does talk to you, tell her you came all the way from New York because your driving record matters to you. Promise not to speed anymore and simply kiss her ass. Maybe even have a good story to go along with how you were tired and should of payed better attention to your speed. Remorse goes a long way.

If that does not work, and she won't work with you. Then you need to go to plan B and totally deny speeding at all. You came all the way from New York to clear your name and you want to know when the last time the radar was checked to make sure it is accurate. Those things do need tested within a certain time frame in PA. I got lucky one time and got off from a ticket because the radar was not tested within the time limit. You could also claim you were speeding but never went over 75mph. It is common for you to drive 5-10mph over the speed limit and you think the radar is not working properly. You don't really have any other options because the ticket checks out, and your going to have to BS your way out of it. Good luck.

Re: Traffic Lawyer in PA ???

Is her Radar Cert up to date?
Was radar calibrated?
Was it off calibration last time it was checked by the lab?
Was it ever off calibration in it`s lifetime or is it always perfect?
If not perfect how much calibration did it need.
Were there other cars on the road? How many? Average speed in the area.
Why did she post herself there? Cars always going fast there? Speed trap?
