I have the TCI aluminum pan on the trans in my truck and the Derale on my other trans. The Derale seems like a cheap piece of tin to me. I definately like the TCI pan alot more.

TCI is a good pan ............... holds about 2-3 extra qts., alum, has fins, and drain plug, but it might need some trimming on the aft end to fit nice.

B&M Hi-Tek colling system: summit part number BMM-70297.

I am going to remote mount it under my bed. It has the temp switch to set a 160*, rerouting the lines out of the radiator, no sense in fighting cooling it when you are sending it to get warmed up, right?

Temp should rise quickly enough, and then the unit(Which is fin and plate, a lot more efficent than fine and tube) should keep the temps at a desireable level. I wanted to make sure and get a fan with a switch so I could let the temp rise, then control it, not have fan running all the time.. From what I have heard/read, too cool of fluid is almost as bad as too hot of fluid.

This combined with the remote filter so I can hook up my tranny temp, made me decide that going with extra capacity pan was kind of redundant. Granted, this is all in theory, but seems good to me, better be anyway, it is backordered like everything else I have ordered for the SY :x

TCI cast aluminum pan all the way: holds two additional quarts of ATF and will make the bottom end of your transmission more rigid due to beefy 1/2" thick construction. Just like the Derale pan, you can still use the stock transmission filter. The TCI pan has pins cast in the bottom of the pan to support the filter whereas it rests on top of the cooling tubes on the Derale. Ditto on the trimming as I had to trim mine to fit. The "trouble spot" is by the torque converter inspection plate. Not a problem with a die grinder and a carbide burr.

B&M 24,000 GVW transmission cooler: the biggest cooler they offer WITH all the hoses and hardware included. They make bigger but, you will have to get hoses and hardware to install. Bolts up on the passenger side of the truck like it was supposed to be there with the supplied brackets in the installation kit.

Summit remote transmission filter: have the benefit of filtering your ATF twice and get a place to install a temperature sender to boot. http://huryde.station180.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=mikecampbellakaSY2932&id=abe A remote filter installed up stream from your stock trans cooler and aux cooler will keep shrapnel out of them when your transmission grenades. Heat is the number one killer of automatic transmissions. Temperature readings from the trans will give you peace of mind like knowing what your oil pressure is. HTH's

the tci pan is definitely built a little sturdier. might have less leaking problems cause it's a little heavier aluminum and will mate up better. b and m has a pretty spiffy tran cooler with a fan you might want to check out. whatever get the biggest cooler you can. I don't think you can make it too cool
