Nice. Was curious about your build (engine). I dropped off my AWD transfer case and converter off to shop, like 2 weeks ago. I'm thinking it was a mistake... Only wanted a new seal put in. Been atleast 2 weeks no calls. Called yesterday after high noon and was expecting a call back and another day has gone by. I'm really curious to what they are up to. Wonder if something broke/went wrong and they have no way of explaining it? (only with me right!?)Transmission was a 1 week turn around. Maybe they will call me tomorrow?

Oh boy I hate that feeling! If I where you I'd go buy the shop just to see what's going on. Unless it's a major crisis I don't feel there's a explanation for atleast a call back from anyone. Well good luck hope it works out for you. As far as my build motor is all stock with just bolt on parts,66mm turbo,60s injectors,tt chip,sportsmachines intercooler,Alky,CAI,2 walbros with Hotwire kit,3 inch Dp & exhaust no cat. Truck was running great 23# no knock and then trans started slipping.

Did you finally get everything back? Really thinking of ordering this kit for mine.

I did. Everything has been wating for me to install. I started digging the stuff out I had packed away.I went ahead and layed everything out . All the hardware and fastners, converter, support bars, gaskets so on.. I am hoping to install it myself very Soon.

Bought a trans jack, so I am one step closer to getting the transmission in the actual truck.

They cleaned the Transfer case and said the seals were in good shape.. no Need to change. Mentioned one was hard to find? A seal that is.they hit it with some paint and that was it. I asked them to provide me a transfer case gasket. I had a extra and cant find it.

Couple quick questions here in regards to locations/ parts :

Photos the driver side lower trans area near linkage. I had about 12 normal pan bolts, and 2 odd balls. I'm not sure if you can see one of the two odd balls in but I feel like something is missing. A bracket? A piece of metal? It's really too bad this photo bucket thing took place. Makes looking back In time impossible. Good for photo reference. Not anymore.

Secondly, energy suspension transmission mount. I have the one sandwich plate installed. Can someone verify if that part is needed or not. It's a piece of bent metal that goes (inside) the inner portion of mount. (Can be seen in photo) Thanks !

^^ there is a bracket missing. Not sure what it's called or where it is. Attached to two of the pan bolts, held the cable in a strait formation to link up to the bracketry on the trans; driver side. NO use in using the search bar here any more...seems like most the photos that I would refer to are gone now.

Your photos are all upside down.

You are indeed missing the selector cable bracket. It goes next to the shift lever. It's long and narrow with a fixture to hold the cable.

I don't think that suspension mount is a spacer. It's so you can bolt up a different support bushing. It won't do any harm there, just looks odd. Do you need the spacer? Probably not.

Mark, thanks is for the quick tip. Not sure why the photos are up side down ( just got another new phone ! Which is more of a easier way to support photo attachments )

I wasn't sure about the spacer. Reason being I'm not 100% sure but can't recall if a remember any vehicle owners experience any clunking, or any type of offset angle on drivetrain, drive shaft or prop shaft. I am aware there is a small allowance but that bent piece of metal looks useless to me. Would never know if it loosens up ..had a issed already with the original. I did use better grade hardware with higher shear and yield strenght.I just want to know if others used that style mount of it's used or disgarded. When I first started working on my syclone 6 years ago I found that one of the bolts had sheared off inside the adapter mount as well as the other a short time later. I tried to extract them various ways and ended up obtaining a new one.


Sometimes you over look stuff. I am relatively organized. Handed most the trans parts over to builder and thought that was with the parts. I crawled under my truck and in fact the part is still on the cable (false alarm) so I do have it. Thanks!!

If you're using Firefox or Chrome browser, you can restore those Photobucket images in a couple minutes by installing this extension and most of the Photobucket images on any thread will reappear: Photobucket Hotlink Fix :: Add-ons for Firefox (for Chrome, click the 'Chrome version' link).
