Check your rpms also. If you're not shifting until 5000+ rpm you need adjust it until you get it down to 4700 or so. Maybe less. There are a lot of Datamaster files floating around and you'll get an idea. Also, if you are not getting 100% TPS on a scantool you may have your TV set too tight. It can break or fray a cable standing on it. Not good.

5k+ rpm shift points are a good thing if your truck is built for it..but if you have a stocker then a 5k shift is slowing you down....

http://65.186.4.181/sportmachines/maintenance/tv_cable.html is a temporary mirror of http://www.sportmachines.com/maintenance/tv_cable.html and tells how to do it.

Here's a pic of what you're looking for...

And the cable you're adjusting is the bottom of these three. The one that curves down to the bottom edge of the pic...

And here's a very simple animation of what you want to do, courtesy of Daron (who I think got it from someone else).

You want to push the button in (wiggling the cable might help if the button's sticking) and pull the cable sheath down and out toward the driver side fender. Then just move the throttle lever wide open or floor the gas pedal, and the cable will click back in a few notches. You may need to adjust it a click or two more if it's still shifting really hard.
