i just got my plugs wires cap and rotor replaced and when i got the truck back it ran fine home but when i got there it starts to hesitate under acceleration... like just for a second then go and then again just like that... my question is will it do that if a plug was fouled during install ??? :tdown: plz help

ok so i took it back to the guys who worked on it and they said that they pulled all of the plugs and checked the gap and did all the timing and cant find anything wrong. he said that he couldnt even find out why it would do that. they saw what i was talking about but said that they cant figure out why...

Are these experienced SyTy mechanics or jsut the average wrench banger?
Not to discount the skills of your mechanic but these trucks take someone who knows their quirks.
It sounds like you have an ignition problem.
the spark breaking up often causes these conditions.
Things that have been known to go wrong during install:
Spark plug insulator cracked during install - look for damaged porcelain
spark plug wire boot tweaked and no longer making good contact - ohm out wires
spark plug wire partially pulled out of boot - ohm out wires
wires # 2 4 or 6 too close to DP and melted - replace melted wires and zip tie to upper IC bracket away from DP
Those are a few small things to check.
Trust me you aren't the first one to have difficulties after what seems to be a routine tune up.
These trucks are ignition whores.

thanks just picked it up again and it feels good until 5+ pounds of boost now it doesnt do it at all untill boosted but still the same problem he pulled the plugs and checked them and made sure gapping was right and found two burnt wires repaired those and still have trouble under boost i might have a diff problem then i origanally thought

if you r running stock ac delco wires you have to make sure you arnt touching anything with the wires but themselves.ex. no metal valve covers, exhaust manifold intercooler bracket, any line of sort. cant touch anything but another spark plug wire. That causes real slow acceleration hesitation from take off its almost like you have to floor it to get going. see if that helps.
