the only decent pass of the night, new wheels feel heavy and for some reason I couldn't get over 11 lbs of boost. Ran a best of 8.844, that Supra is fast but it needs a driver mod, Supra's trap speed was 89.64 mine was 74.95

Numbers are
Typhoon
60'=1.807
330=5.571
1/8=8.844
mph=74.95

Supra
60'=2.401
330=6.208
1/8=9.063
mph=89.64

Re: Ty vs Supra

that supra was spinning like crazy.

never understood why someone would want to drag a high powered car on street tires. i can understand if you do nostalgia and if your on a strict budget but seriously, you drive a supra, throw some DR's on it for f's sake. thats at least an 11 sec car.

Re: Ty vs Supra

mkvis stands for.....

basically car code like C5, C6 for corvette. mk being the car identifier and iv being roman numeral for 4(th generation). other examples are AE86 for the 86ish toyota corolla rwd and EK, EG for honda civic.

Dyno queen

for some yes, but takes some solid, swinging brass to drive that 1400rwhp dyno queen down the 1/4 with a 6spd. especially since alot of owners are just wealthy folk looking for powerful cars as status.

MKIV reads Mark IV, or more correctly, Marque IV. Marque (in Automotive Engineering) stands for "a brand of product". Mark is the way it's pronounced and MK is an abbreviation (used for a long time, even to denote plane models by the British in the war). The IV is easier as it stands for 4th, 4th generation.

Basically, saying MKIV for the Supra is like saying 4th Gen for Camaros.

That's different. AE86 is broken down as so:

A = A series engine (the 4A-GE)
E = Corolla chassis code
86 = Production Series (5th generation of the E80 series, 6th model of the generation)

The AE86 was produced from 1984-1987, so it has little to do with the year model. Also has little to do with drive orientation as the AE85 is also RWD, differing from the FWD AE82. :tup:

Re: Ty vs Supra

you should be about to walk most supra for at least the 1/8 mile.. get a bad driver and you can cover most the higher hp cars in the 1/4 as well..

Ive had quite a few of them down threw the years.. Auto cars of course are different story at the track, my auto pulled 1.7 60 foots on drag radial.. the 6 speeds do ok, but you have to be willing to abuse the hell out of them, Now supra status falls into 3 catagorys, 1) younger kids that cant afford them, 2) well off older people that are afraid of them, 3) a very few that have the money and ability to drive the high hp cars..

Have you ever seen ryan woons car? its shag nasty. this is from 2006, i havent kept up with those guys since i sold my junk..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYX4XiQWYRU

chances of pulling up next to one like are slim, they are a lot of 1000+ whp supras out there but 95% of them are just to say they have it.. sorta like the underground racing 1500hp lambos,

Just dont jump on one from a roll. no clue how toyota did it, but once they are moving they pull like crazy no matter the power.

5678ta, is correct most are just for fun and dont care what they run, my last one made a shade over 1100 whp threw a turbo400... it still didnt hook up good even at highway speed with 345 drag radials on a 13.5 inch wide wheel.. but when it did it would about make you sick..

I have a friend who drives an 1300hp Supra...he needs a low 10-High 9 on the quarter...

needs around 3,7 sec from 0-60mph with Drag radials

On Long distance(1 mile) he gets Out with 217.9 mph:)
