It's been a blast building this (of course with the help of my dear friend, Mr Fabricator). I plan to take a lot of pics when I disassemble and reassemble it before and after paint. It's somewhat difficult to take a lot of pics when things are in various stages.

Re: Typhoon II #735...it's coming together...

Putting in a 400 turbo with a 2.75 frist gear and a trans break. I did build the trans crossmember so I can reverse it and it will work for the 4L80e, if I or some else ever wants to go that route.

Re: Typhoon II #735...it's coming together...

...gorgous pics! As an fyi, GM`s 6L80 6-speed auto ( engined torque rating in
excess of 520 lb-ft, with a 3-piece design consisting of a bellhousing
or adapter plate, main body, and tailshaft extension housing ) available
in 06 cadillac sts-v and transaxle 400hp LS2 vettes is available. They
claim the 6L80 has a 6.0:1 ratio spread from its 4.02:1 first gear to its 0.67 sixth
gear. By comparison the 4L60-E 4-speed overdrive has a 6.04:1 overall ratio range.
GM estimates the 6L80`s wide ratio spread will reduce 0-60mph accceleration time
by as much as 7% compared to current four and five speed auto`s.

Re: Typhoon II #735...it's coming together...

Problem I see with that is similar to the manual 6 speeds. The 4.02 first gear is going up in smoke with the higher hp builds. Of course with a major change of thinking... maybe a 3.08 final gear instead of 4.10s assuming 30'' tires needed for traction. I have friends with 6 speed f-bodies that are using 28" tires and 3.73 gears and go up in smoke. The first gear to low..or high...which is it..

The polishing bill is going to be large...have not decided to paint the chassis or powder coat...or something other. Looks like the body will be painted to match my stock Ty...although i saw a color called silver titanium that was pretty cool.

Wow that sure is nice. I have a question about the fuel lines in the tank. Is that legal for street use?. In Canada we have laws on modified vehicles and they have to be brought in for a "safety". Having bottom of tank fuel lines are illegal here. Just wondering how the laws are in your state. But otherwise I'd sure like to see video of that Ty when it's done.Looks like alot of money and time have been put into it.

Its a beautiful thing to see something like this done by someone who actually knows what they are doing

I love following these "ground up" builds.

I hate thinking of the money in these "ground up" builds

looking good - when you are in town next we should run over to the electrostatic paint guy. It looks like they me do my chassis. It's as hard as powder but you can come back later and touch up nicks and scratches. The bad part is the cost is much more.

Here's the deal...I need you guys on the BB to come up with different ideas about how I should tell her. We will decide on the best one and that person can tell her in person. If he lives he gets first dibbs on extra parts and first ride.
