I HAVE A '93 TY WITH 76000 MILES THAT I BOUGHT IN 10/01.IT DOESNT LEAK A DROP OF OIL BUT ITS BEEN USING ALMOST 3 QUARTS IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES.IT STARTS A LITTLE HARD WHEN ITS COLD AND PUFFS SOME SMOKE ONCE STARTED BUT THATS ALL THE SMOKING ITS DOING.SO WHERE THE HELL IS ALL MY OIL GOING AND WHAT SHOULD I DO.MY ROOMMATE THINKS ITS SOME SORT OF TURBO SEAL.IVE ALSO BEEN TOLD BAD VALVE GUIDES OR EVEN PISTON RINGS, BUT I JUST DONT THINK THATS THE CASE.ESPECIALLY WITH FAIRLY LOW MILEAGE.WE NOTICED A SMALL AMOUNT OF OIL RESIDUE BEFORE THE TURBO BUT NOT SO MUCH ON THE AIR FILTER.SO IM GETTING SICK OF ADDING OIL.HELP!!!!!

sounds like your vavle seals, and check your compression. that will tell you if your piston rings are bad.

actually my piston rings were good.......my pistons were just too small....my compression was good though.

How many miles per quart are you going through? If you have a normal oil change schedule, you probably go through a quart every 1000-1500, it higher than normal but ok. I would start worry if it more than 1000/quart. As for where it is going, your probably constantly burning small amount. I doubt your valve seals are contributing a lot of the oil though, my Vette valve seal puffs pretty good, but I go through less than a 1/2 quart every 2000 miles (and my car some small oil leaks)

If your turbo is worn badly, it can use a lot of oil. Take off your IC hose and see how oily it is. Also take off the hose to the inlet side of the turbo compressor and see how much you can wiggle the shaft.
Also, have you checked the PCV valves?
