Re: What is a good wideband to use with datamaster? any good experience?
I have never heard anything but good about PLX stuff, but have 0 firsthand experience.
The LC-1 I would avoid like the plague. I have seen several of these in differnet friends cars and they seem to have about a 70/30 success rate. Some people get them to run perfect out the gate, some people end up with heatsinks and splicing the controller wiring and relocating it just to get it to give reliable readings. IMO it's more or less a crapshoot as to which of the 2 groups you will fall in.
I use the Zeitronix zt2 on my Mustang. I like how it can handle Boost, EGT and AFR all in one package at a reasonable price. I have the LCD gauge for it, but admit is mosty useless for AFR since the display has a fair amount of lag, but for EGT and Boost, its works well and the datalogging software is excellent. As far as accuracy goes, the last time I had it on a dyno, the z2t read 12.1 and the dynojets 5 wire NGK read 11.8 at WOT. Not great, but not bad considering its a $90 sensor compared to the dynos $500 NGK sensor.
I have the AEM guage style wideband in the Syclone right now. Its pretty simple though, so there isnt really much to say. It seems to work pretty well with code59, and as far as accuracy goes - I will just need to put the Sy on a dyno and test it out.
