Re: What's the breakdown of Typhoon production numbers by color?
Well I'm not THE expert but I don't seem to see too many Teals, mainly it realy is ugly in my opinion? Marty or Merk (can't remember which) told me there were like 30 something known Bright Teals, how many are actually left now, who knows? My Teal is Teal/Teal not Teal/Gray and the original owner was a GM Asia - Japan Exec. who told me he "special ordered it that way because he didn't like the gray" and at that time in the late 80's - early 90's the "Mono-Tone" theme was in in the custom scene. I really don't think it's a repaint because the shipping company damaged the R/F cladding when I had it shipped from Manila to me here on Saipan. When I removed the cladding I found writting on the back side "P.A.S. RQSO # Tagomo - Brt. Teal", also all the rivets etc. were original with no signs or removal, repair or repaint over spray / masking or tape lines.
Soooo... I pulled the driver side since it's easy then put a flash light to the under side front and rear and it, the front cover and the rear cover all say the same thing all written in grease / paint marker. Mr. Tagomo was loosing his vision last year when I bought it and had to have a driver, he also had several other weird / strange GM's and all were pretty clean to spotless and all original except for maybe wheels and tires cars in his warehouse and he was selling them off at that time. Marty told me a while back the he and Merk were working on the production #'s but it did sound like I might have an S.O. truck and he would let me know one of these years :rotf: !
If this is the case, was the cladding done by P.A.S. or? Maybe I have the one the ony S.O.Teal / Teal but I can't and won't claim that till I get more info on the situation but I will keep my fingers crossed, it may be ugly but I don't give a damn if there's a shot it may be only one  . Too be honest, I realy don't remember seeing that many Teals's even when they were new in 92'? I have just started tearing it down and found a few other "strange " things about this truck also. As I get more into the teardown I'll post up some pic's.
