Where is ESC Module on 1993 Typhoon?

Mechanic is unable to locate. Diagnois shows it on the engine, but can not locate. Any ideas? Appreciate the help.

The knock sensor screws into the top of the block, just ahead of the firewall and to the right of the distributor. The ESC module is integral to the memcal. (Not external like TPI motors.)

The knock sensor (AKA ESC sensor) is located on the engine block, the rest of the ESC "system" is on the mem-cal. If your mechanic cannot locate a knock sensor then I suspect you should run, not walk, to your truck and find someone who can.

Exactly what is the mechanic attempting to fix?

If you are getting an esc code, check the timing/esc bypass connector above the passenger side floorboard, should be a tan wire w/ black stripe. I have seen these get kicked loose and cause a code w/ no timing advance...Daron is probably right, find a TECHNICIAN....

Thanks for information. My Dad asked the question for me while I was at work. I took the Typhoon to the mechanic and he has worked on only my Dad's Typhoon, but is a very good mechanic. I went over and moved the carpet and it was disconnected, I reconnected it and no more engine check light. I installed a 12-disc changer in the center console last weekend and when I read your reply, I knew exactly what happened.

The guy is probably just used to seeing a ESC module on TPI vehicles. It was kinda new to me also for the ESC to be on the memcal and the wire to be under the dash.

OK, gm sometimes does a good job of dis-informing people, I have found a quite a few things wrong on schematics and such supplied from the car makers... the electrical component locator is sometimes worthless on a mid-year change car...that is where experience counts...and sometimes luck..
