Hard to say with the economy in the mess it is in (that changes everything) but I would feel confident saying $5000-6500 in great shape w/low miles. This one would be an easy $4500-5000 truck after it is fixed, even with a marked history IMO.

maybe the guy setting the "acv" read this thread...

Or was smoking some medical grade marijuana when he priced it.

I thought ACV was based on "actual" condition at the time....not peeking into the future considering the best of possibilities. Anyway, sure hope someone qualified can snatch this up for around $1800 (which is my guess for final sale cost) so Craig can fix what someone messed up!

it states acv is the value placed on it pre-damadge.

Their definition of "ACV" is just glorified bullshit. Assuming most insurance auctions are this way.

IMO and probably almost everyone else, ACV is the ACTUAL CASH VALUE at the present time. IMO, if there's a Typhoon frame and shell sitting there, the ACV on that thing isn't $12,000, it's whatever the shell and frame are worth.

Of course, we are talking about good ole insurance companies.

I just spoke with another one of my employees who has been doing this about 5x longer than I have, and his response in ACV is the same:
What it's worth right here, right now. Not what it "could" be worth.
But again, neither of us have purchased through an actual insurance/salvage auction before.

befor damadge or after, doesnt matter, way outta line either way. with the way the market is you can spend about that and get a decent ty that needs less work to bring it back to it younger glory.

Wrong. In a salvage sale the ACV value is what the vehicle would be worth undamaged. I am not real sure why they list it except to let people what they could sell it for possibly if they bought it and fixed it. Since we average slightly over $1800/vehicle we buy I don't think this one will bring $700 unless a few people from here start bidding against each other. 99% of the bidders won't even look twice at that truck because of the age and the value of the parts.

But iaai wont work with me. They are rude when they know ur not eligible to bid.

I would give them more but they didnt want to let private party bid for some reason but hey their loss or should i say insurance companies loss!

Hence the reason why I stated neither of us had purchased through a salvage sale before. Our stips don't allow us to finance any salvaged vehicles, so we've never dealt with a salvage only sale before. Still though, IMO, it's BS to list an ACV as a "could be worth". Where do you buy from? Actually, I'll PM you because I have some questions for you about that.

Wow. I guess several people must have known what it was. I wouldn't have thought it would have broken $1000, but I guess I was wrong.
