Injectors

Are stock injectors HIGH or LOW? Pretty sure my truck has wrong injectors and is the root of all my problems.

Re: Injectors

No I Have Siemens injectors installed. I purchase them from a guy who ran them on a 500hp audi s4 biturbo.

Here I find out that they are LOW and need HIGH. My truck runs like crap and believe it all started at this point. Chip was burned to the injectors but I dont believe it was exact macth. I just find out that they are 2 ones offered basically look identical. I thought they were correct. Here in my research I thought these were a popular injector to run in the truck. I guess it was my fault on not completing my homework, again.

Re: Injectors

Your ECU can be modded to work with low impedance injectors. If you can find someone to do it. Or find someone that has one for sale.

Another option would be to buy a set of high impedance 60lb injectors for your truck. They work very well on our trucks.

Re: Injectors

high impediance is what, 13ish ohms static? (PS I know what impedance is)

Re: Injectors

I really dont know guys. honestly. I am really stumped. I looked into the Siemens DEKA lineup and do not see the ones I have offered in LOW. Only high. Plz some one look into the line up and see if there even is a HIGH/low offered. This is where I pulled my info from. I dont see any LOW offered. http://www.siemensdeka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=10- This is only where I pulled info/specs on injectors from. I purchased them 2nd hand.

The tuner guy probed my Injector harness and it read like 32-33-34.. around that. I dont know what that tells me at all. Ohms? I ran it by him about a ECM mod or a driver for these injectors. He said there is nothing out there like it. (funny how there is a large variance in whats avail. and whats correct) He tried to steeer me towards a resistor box mentioned the name and my eyes probably rolled like... Another part?

Would this explain why on my Fuel rail, Im only getting 9psi fuel pressure? I have tried to wind the adjusting nut in. No good results. Backed almost completely off it runs decent. Am I wasting my time with this or what? My truck runs and has little boost spurts like "it runs ok" but im on the back burner with alot of this, Like am I doing damage. How much fuel is getting dumped into cylinders. I stab the gas pedal and it sounds like a .45 going off. POP POP POP

Re: Injectors

sounds to me like a fuel pressure reg or the fuel pump, injectors will not change your fuel pressure. here's some pics of 60 high imp' injectors the link you show are the same injectors as mine.

Re: Injectors

Mine look the same, I dont know why the dude told me they were wrong. and the truck will never run correct. Again he probed the 2 wires on the injector harness and got a reading, and from there he told me that they are not right.

Here is a photo of them when I had acquire them and start my upgrade pile.

They look identical.

Re: Injectors

Those look like the correct injectors. It least they look just like all the 60lb hi-z injectors that I have seen.

If you are getting the correct fuel pressure reading and it is 9psi. I don't know how it is even running. You need to get it to 43lb with the vacuum line off and plugged.

Like mentioned in the previous post. Check the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump.

Re: Injectors

Just installed the Aeromotive 340- Let me tell you. That stock little pump, sounded very very sick. Night and day diff. Going to go put the gauge on and dial it in .

Re: Injectors

Who is your "tuner guy"? He needs to be killed.... or at the very least given a new nickname :)

Re: Injectors

Tuner guy is like the lead guy over at psi proformance in lansdale.

He seemed quick to help me out and drop what he was doing, but gave me a bad feeling inside about my truck.

I did do the pump toda. Adjusted the Fuel pressure up to 40 psi. not to long ago.. I think I blew my truck up.Went for a small test ride. I had the Check engine light on. It now does not light. Also truck does not start. I thought it was out of gas. I blasted it with starting fluid. Will not run. I just got in from a flat bed tow him.

Fee like banging my head on the desk. This truck has conquered me

You need to bring the truck to Sportmachines while it's (hopefully) still in 1 piece. Forget *any* import tuning shop.

Re: Injectors

Wouldn't low impedance injectors fry the ECU? I mean, it's effectively moving a lot more amps through it. V=I/R.

Re: Injectors

I have had High imp injectors the whole time. I have thought about taking my truck to SM. I was not sure if there was anyone closer. I have been trying to find some one closer who knows these or TPI/TBI well. Right Now Im pretty much down for the count.
