50# Beta testers needed

Most of the people who I would approve of testing for me know who you are.. so email me. If your truck isn't ready, or you are in an area of inclement weather, don't worry about it for now, you'll have a chip available when your truck is.

Hey Brian,
I've got a stock motor with the usual suspects of mods AFPR,Walbro,Aux cooler w/lines(soon to be A2A), SMC Alky, ATR catback, ultimate. I'd be very interested in beta testing your new 50#er.
Me and my Datamaster await your response.

TIA

I need people that have modifications that require more fuel, specifically those with the PTE turbo setup... do you have a bigger turbo?

No reason to step up the injector size if you don't.

Hello, I was wondering if there is more info on the benefits of the 50# injector/chip combo setup? I am positive there is an excellent reason for doing this but I am just unclear as to what exactly it is. I read that the stock injectors went as fast as a crazy mid-11 pass but I'm sure that is not a repeatable or reliable setup. Anyway, is the 50# the ticket to get the "stock motor, bolt-on mods and turbo SyTy" past the mid-low 12 second range that they currently fall into? Or is it purely for better driveability? What situations does the 50# setup provide a solution for which there currently is none? Thank you and I appreciate your time.

Main reason for the switch to 50# injectors is becasue the stock 33's are almost at 100% duty cycle.. What this means is that they each injector is maxed out to its potential..
You need to add more fuel/increase pressure when increasing horsepower.. adding on that turbo or a set of heads will necessitate this.. With larger injectors you'll have the ability to fuel your upgrades... Why 50# injectors?? From what I recall most people said the 40#ers ran crappy, can't remember about the 44#ers.. I'll let Green clear it all up but thought you might get a simple answer to hold you over... later

The stock injectors do go pretty far. Any time I've heard of stock injectors going 11s, it was at an unsafe level, and the truck was nearly leaned out, especially for any Typhoon running that fast. No one should consider doing the 50# stuff unless they are doing some pretty serious bolt ons and are going to push the truck (push the truck means 20+psi, on race gas, shooting for those 11 second time slips).

Most combinations running Garrett or Mitsu turbos won't need 'em. If people are going to run the PTE setup, and really lean on it, the 50# stuff should work very well.

When I first started doing chips, I had so many inquiries about running larger injectors, about half of which were really justified. Many people want to run larger injectors because they think it's just necessary, or it would be the next step of upgrades in their line of thinking, or it offers a bigger margin of safety... there are trucks that need more fuel, but I believe we can identify those combinations that do, based on collected list/board wisdom.

Most of the bolt on trucks really would only need a step up to 40lb/hr or so injectors, problem is that those injectors can be a PITA to tune. You can tune them, but if a combination varies a bit, it can really throw off a calibration for a non linear injector (hard to explain). 50s are easy to tune, and offer more injector headroom than the 40s (support more HP, you'll run your truck at a lower injector duty cycle - which is good). Plus, we are working on calibrations for head/cam combos on built motors; so when your 11.5 Syclone with stock motor bites it, and you build a stronger short block up, we can provide a decent calibration for it with the same 50# injectors.

So, this chip is really for those people who are using any combination of the PTE & ATR turbo setups, with stock motors, and other bolt ons, who are going racing. I am hoping it will work *really* well for the max effort stock motor guys - aka PTE 53, headers, air-air IC, built trans & stall converter....

I've seen better drivability with it, and it should be safer than any 11 second combo that has been done on the stock ECM.

Lotta 'should' and 'will' statements in there, but that's why I need some beta testers.

The webpage should have enough detail to cover most questions.

I'm running 50's and a chip in my All stock Typhoon. I know the chip is designed for bigger turbo setup but I had the 50's laying around and decided to drop them in. I have noticed that it idles and drives great, i still get around 16MPG on around town driving. It runs a bit rich at WOT but this is an ALL STOCK truck with about 110K on the engine and turbo.
I'm using the 50chip and inj combo to see how well it drives for future mods.
